Nicknames

In the short pause between the season opener yesterday and the Stanford game tomorrow, I thought I would bring up the topic of nicknames. Of the ones that I know of, here goes:

"Stewie" Breanna Stewart. This makes great sense because there's so many "Br..."s on the team.

"Big Mama Stef" Stefanie Dolson. This is really more of a handle than a nickname, so I'm not sure it counts.

"MoJeff" or "MoJet" Moriah Jefferson. I prefer "MoJet" because it describes her perfectly.

"KML" Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis. Given that her real name is a mouthful, "KML" works.

There are probably more, but this short list brings me to:

Saniya Chong. I read yesterday in a thread that her nickname is "Ni" (pronounced "Nye). Ok, but I have another one for her that I really like that I'll suggest:

"Chongster" a play on words after our Boneyard humorist, play-on-words member.

I read or heard an interview few days ago to the effect that Stef lost that handle when she had her dramatic conditioning program pay off. Please no MoJet: sounds like rapper or drug dealer (I know some are both). If Saniya becomes a great defender we can call her NYET! Another nick name if she becomes a scoring demon would be KaChing (as in Money). Yes, I know the later could be misinterpreted, unfortunately.

Respectfully disagree; I think MoJet is a genius idea. Who came up with that, anyway. I also like Big Game Bria. While it is far from original, Block Party might be appropriate for Kiah. I seem to recall that there was something of a movement last season to call BB The Flash. (or was it The Streak?)

Not quite a nickname but I thought a sign idea, used whenever she scores, would be:
KaChiong

(The strike-through isn't real obvious here, but it could be on a sung)

Stef, Stewie, KLM, MoJeff, Ni, Bri, Banks, Stokes, Tuck...Some are just last names, but seem to fit the peeps....
