New Uniforms?

I hope it's not script UConn. That looks too FCS for me. I figure we will mirror how Rutgers tweaked their Unis and helmets into a more B1G friendly style. Classic but with a touch of "chrome and flash".

I never want to be anything like Rutgers except conference foes.

Helmet redesign would be enough for me - don't like it, hasn't grown on me and feels cartoonish.

Two things here:

* IMHO it was pretty ominous that on the day the current unis were revealed, UConn's person in charge of marketing resigned and left the school.

* Helmet design? Dog logo? Pffft. The absolute worst thing about the current unis is that we have a 5-19 record while wearing them. Five-and-friggin'-nineteen.

They suck.
They have to go.
And I'm pumped (relieved!) that they're apparently going away...

As much as I would like to see the block C come back it's not going to happen. That was our Connecticut brand and now we're UConn. How about the new husky logo on the sides of the helmets with maybe some Oregon State facemask?

In my wildest dreams, the new football uniform features a large B1G logo on it and the alternate uniform replaces the numbers on the back of the jersey with a giant middle finger and the letters 'ACC' behind it

I prefer the block "C" helmet, dark blue jersey, white pants, and white shoes. That's classy and its the NFL look.

The current helmet looks cartoonish. And dark blue pants with a dark blue jersey looks like a high school uniform.

I like the current helmet more than the Block C. I liked the C but the current helmet has some style to it.

Ole Miss, Cal and UCLA are all script. Nothing FCS about it to me. I am ok with the script (although I'd make it white lettering on a blue helmet instead of blue on white). Still prefer the block C though.

After 2 seasons they still look ridiculous, and they're now synonymous with 2 nightmare football seasons. Time to finally take the majority of the fans' opinions for consideration and scrap those monstrosities.

The marketing gurus at Nike came up with this with their oh so vital re-branding. Time for them to step up and fix this. Dozens of other schools have simple classic helmet styles with school initials/logos on the helmet side. We don't. Yet we have a new logo and a simple brand name (UCONN) to work with. Can't believe it's so hard just to come up with a decent looking college football helmet.

One team always has to wear white jerseys, with the lone exception of UCLA vs. USC. UConn comes out with a unique helmet and people pee their pants because it's different. Yeah maybe Oregon is over the top with the number of combos they can make, but they and a handful of alternate Nike designs are only a recent exception to the boring monotony of college football uniform blandness.

I think people "peed their pants" because it kind of sucked. Regardless, anything that puts distance between us the memories of the P years is a good thing.

I agree 100% with this. I loved your old Block C Helmet/Uniform Combos. They were truly classic and would look at home on the field of B1G Opponents like UM, PSU, OSU etc. The newer ones... Sorry but they look like something you would see in The XFL. I'm not a uniform snob, but these are simply poorly designed and look terrible on TV. Their akin to the abominations that Rutgers and UMD brought to the conference. Your team deserves something much better.

Let's face it guys... the Block 'C' logo and that helmet design is NEVER coming back. The University and Athletics has already spent too much money on getting rid of everything that had the Block 'C' on it, and unified all sports under the new Nike branding. I'd be open to another look at helmets, and def unis (especially a 3rd Jersey), but I'm pretty confident that the C will never live again at UConn boys.
