Are they really best friends? Oregon and Georgia are so far. I thought Russell was looking at colleges with her usa basketball teammate mavunga maybe they are looking to go to the same school to play the 4 and 5. That school people mention most is Louisville.

Seems like it from MR's tweets

If I am not mistaken we can recruit 5 or 6 for that year. We all saw how the TASSK turned out. TAS were all 6'2". Personally, I would love to have more 6'2"+ players on this team. Look at ND and Tennessee with all there 6'4", 6'5",6'6" s.

A Bakersfield reporter is reporting that Geno will be in CA next week to watch McCall play. He'll most likely head to CA after the Oklahoma game.

UConn chasing Ridgeview's McCall

UConn women's basketball coach Geno Auriemma will be in Bakersfield next week to see Ridgeview junior center Erica McCall, Bakersfield Californian reporter Zach Ewing says.
That's a whopper when you consider UConn has won six of the past 12 national titles.
The 6-2 McCall is averaging 26.2 points, 17.1 rebounds and 7.3 blocks per year after going 19.8, 8.4 and 16.0 in those departments while leading the Wolf Pack to the D-III title.

I wouldn't take those nunbers too seriously. Take it from a California native who actually follows the state playoffs. First of all the D-lll title they are referring to was for a very weak CC section not the region or the state. This year Ridgeview didn't even win it but lost to Independence. They still advanced to the southern cal region Dlll playoffs but as number 13 out of 15 teams. Besides the better teams in Dlll are in the north this year.

She plays for Cal sparks gold ( AA) and had a good showing in the U16 tryouts so she has been viewed and evaluated. And the evaluators are no dummies so she has skills. But her high school numbers really mean little in that they come against some very weak teams as far as California standards go. Her section and the Bakersfield area in general is one of California's weakest.

There are other players with her size and skill in Cali who just have not had the same exposure in that they don't play for a high profile AAU team or might not put up the same type of inflated numbers. It's too bad her team will never make it out of the south so that she could face the size of say the Bishop O Dowd players who are a lock to represent the North in Dlll. That certainly would supply better picture as to how she ranks up with some other Cali players with size. This is not meant as a slam on her abilities only to supply a more realistic perspective in relation to her high school numbers.

Very true, very true, socal has even gone to further the extreme by placing all top teams in D1AA, so all the other divisions are much weakened, norcal on the other hand has them spread out and they don't get to play a top team until maybe the finals, if that and could sweep in state, other than D1.

The only other way to measure would be for the team to go play at something like the Nike TOC in AZ.
