Exit 4 you beat me to it. We're so thin at RB we may need to look at moving a guy across. Swann could be one option but have to roll the tape. Kyle Buss not mentioned anywhere but he showed some speed and cutting ability in limited action. If he's back he needs to be more involved. Could see him taking some of Arkeel's role catching out of the backfield and getting LB's in isolation. McCaffrey with less carries. The line will be competitive and we need 1 new guy to make an impact. Still seems like we're another year out from being solid there but should be improved.

We need a strong fast speed rusher who can move around and needs to be accounted for. Haven't had time to size up our options.

Lot's of Frosh DB's got time this year and need to develop more in the off season. I like Coyle and Brown but they all have work to do.

I agree with all your points. Regarding Buss, seems like he will be limited to kick offs and screen passes. Unfortunately he has trouble staying healthly and holding on to the ball.

He's not going to stay healthy returning kicks for us.

I think Rob King has a shot in the D backfield. They like Bebe too and don't sleep on TJ Gardner. RE likes to redshirt freshmen- he didn't get a chance this year but next year a lot of the new guys will be redshirted. Also, if Peart doesn't progress to the next level(nastiness)- watch one of the redshirted OL from this year take his spot.

We definitely got too nice during the Debacle era. Part of the fun of football has always been an element of physical domination or "meanness". I know the rules and the officiating is trending against any kind of fun on the field but you have to work within that structure to be effective and have that mental and physical edge.

Good list, I see you stuck with the usual matriculation however.

On Oline our guard and center play has been woefully inadequate for many years now. I think the staff goes to the young guys right away here. Crozier isn’t special, DeGeorge was a weak link and didn’t really inprove with all that playing time, Etc. I like Holmes getting a spot here, the staff exploring options to push or replace DeGeorge and something completely new for center; Hubbard? Nyadu? Maybe even Travis Jones. We got to get a group that can help us on short yardage running plays.

On D I don’t see Beavers and Hahn as being more than specialist/back ups. Someone new like Gardner/Thomas or even Harris will see a lot of reps.

In the secondary I think it’s a complete do over. I think only Colye has shown some improvement of the young guys. I expect the freshman to challenge again for every DB position. None of this year’s crop really showed they can’t be leap frogged. To restart all the same guys in the secondary just can’t happen. Every 2018 recruit gets a long look in August to play next year. It can’t be worse and should be better.

I can see Beavers putting around 10-15 pounds and playing a lot especially rushing the quarterback

I think Peart is legit. I believe he is by far the best recruit Diaco landed. Best OL we had this year by far. Not a close 2nd IMO.

He has to work on his consistency. He is agile and can move. But sometime he gets beat badly in the run and pass games.

Id like to see Marshe Terry go from safety to LB if he could become more physical and add 10 lbs.

You may be on to something here, because further away from the LOS, he seems to be a liability. and, he's gotta just tackle better... That high reaching out, one arm stuff just doesn't work....

Think Gilmartin is going to make a strong push at ILB. One of only players v. BC who showed any physicality. No way he is 5’11 but he was standing up blockers and has a nose for the ball.
an RKG Edsall type.. an overachiever... They work real well with his teams... I'm OK with this....

Hope we are going to see more of Zordan Holman... He came in as a guy, because of his athleticism, that might open a few eyes.. He's got 2 years left... Hope he shows something at TE (or wherever we put him other than special teams) as well...

I liked his high school highlights, only knock on him was his size. But he looked like he belonged last Saturday. He really mixed it up between the tackles. Loved to see it.

3 kids who's redshirts cone off next season that I'm intrigued about
are OL S Hubbard, R Holmes, & J Tunstall. Gotta hope that these guys will help solidify our 2 deep at the LOS. Anybody know how these kids are coming along?

Agreed. At the risk of sounding like the guy who thinks he best QB on the roster is always the backup, we've got some QB talent coming in the next two years that could make quick pushes for time.
Believe it when we see it.

I wonder if Holmes or Hubbard could play nose. We need a big body that can occupy blockers in the interior in this 3 man front.

A Troy Ashley type. Hoping it translates into more playing time. No on Terry but Edsall had a soft spot for a previous safety that was not very good.

Few more milkshakes and cheeseburgers per day and I would like to see Eric Cobb and David Onuorah as Defensive ends! Oh that's right Onuorah is too old. Okay just the Cobster! LOL!
