I think this qualifies as at least a one star 'yikes'!
According to a thread on the guy-side UConn will have a new SID in two weeks.
The new director is Phil Chardis...the longtime men's beat writer from the Journal Inquirer.
There has been no mention of this in the JI.... I do get the paper.
The reaction to the hire on the guy-side is favorable. If the report is accurate, congratulations to Phil.
My impression over the years reading his articles is that he is extremely well informed on the men's team. A few years ago I was on an early morning flight to Florida during the winter and I found my seatmate to be Phil. He was a friendly and chatty companion....lots of tidbits on the men's team with an occasional item on our side of the game.
Interesting hire....here's hoping it works out great for Phil and UConn.
