Pleased to announce that we have added @coachwhite_c as our Special Teams Coordinator. We just got better as a program and he’ll be recruiting MD,DC and Tampa. Our 10th coach. Welcome aboard. #GreatCoach #Great Person #Great Recruiter

Chris White Bio:

>>White came to UConn from the University of Iowa where he was the special teams coordinator/running backs coach for four seasons. During his tenure with the Hawkeyes, White helped the team to four bowl appearances, including a berth in the 2016 Rose Bowl.

Prior to his stint in Iowa City, White was an assistant special teams coach for the Minnesota Vikings from 2009-12. He helped the Vikings win the 2009 NFC North Division Championship and Minnesota also earned a berth in a 2012 Wild Card game.

From 2000-08, White served in several capacities at Syracuse. He was the special teams coordinator/tight ends coach from 2000-03, the recruiting coordinator/tight ends coach from 2003-04 and the recruiting coordinator/wide receivers coach from 2005-08. The Orange defeated Kansas State in the 2001 Insight.com Bowl and won the Big East Championship in 2004.<<

Gonna have to be some more shuffling to add a dedicated QB coach if it is the cards.

Previously served as senior quality control director of football research and special projects this past season. Don't know much about him.

It blows the theory that Edsall will have nothing to do with any coaches connected to the past two regimes. This guy worked for Pasquaphony at Syrexcuse.

Not sure if you were aware, but Kevin Nathan played college football.

... his oft mentioned D3 exploits have been a running joke on here for years ;).

Matt Patricia was at Cuse in 2001-2003 as a graduate assistant working alongside coach White so there is that.

We cannot catch a break this offseason...unbelievable
None of the losses have really been major, considering one of Randy’s best traits is hiring. Think about it how many coaches who are regarded as some of the best minds in CFB have been on Randy’s staff? He clearly knows how to spot talent and I bet Randy and Bob Quinn had conversations before the hire I doubt Bob would try and sabotage his alma mater.

Next, step up candidate 2. For HR compliance reasons, will UConn need to re-list the position for a standard time period? Or, just toss it out there for a brief period, re-interview, and hire the guy who was # 2 on HCRE's list time?

Assistant football coaches move all of the time, so what we are seeing is normal. Look at the resume of any college coach and they are usually on the move every few years. White has been a football coach since 1992 and the Lions will be his 10th team. JB Grimes is on his 18th coaching stop going back to Auburn.

This one is a little different. The guy wasn't here a few years, he was barely here a few weeks.
