Less than a week until my pick time; my Gampel seats are still there. Praying they hold out. Less concerned about XL, I'll make something work.

Are these seats allegedly “forever seats” too or did they ditch that line?

I'm going tomorrow, and my old seats are long gone- the whole section is gone....so I'm probably going to be pushed into your section. Got my eye on some seats, hope they're not yours! Sorry!

Good luck! I am picking today - my seats are long gone too and have two back plans. Will see if those are even still there later. Hope we aren't looking at the same ones ;)

Hard to imagine that there won't be people left without seats, from the way things are going.

since they blocked the sight for those that picked already, are the lower sideline Gampel all gone at this point? There were some left in the far sections, and plenty behind the basket when I picked.

I also lost my old seats which were selected after an extra donation to secure a forever location and letting them keep the money for my Covid years tickets.

It’s a little too ironic that my selection reminder email came with a solicitation to top off the seat license fees with an extra donation to get to the next support level

For me, this whole episode has fundamentally changed my attitude toward future donations so safe to say I won’t be doing that.

Just had my selection window. I lost all my prior seats and aren’t even close to equivalent with my new seats. Had mens and women’s tickets at XL in middle of 115 and now am in 118. Was in 107 at Gampel for Women and now behind the basket in 114. Donations have decreased but all that really does is knock me down the list for post season and neutral site ticket availability moving forward. I’m not giving any extra anymore. Each year they have asked for more and I have gotten less. Next year may contemplate going the secondary market route and giving up seasons all together. If football improves they will be coming for my tickets on the 50 next I bet. Count me in the group of beyond disappointed long time fans and ticket holders.

I have to compliment the staff working on the ticket process. I spoke with one yesterday and two today and all were knowledgeable, gracious, and went out of their way to help, including having to process my sale manually due to no "hot link" for payment showing up at the bottom of my screen where it should have been. The rep said they've had a few issues like that but, for the most part the system has worked seamlessly.

Did mine this morning and was surprised how many "un-forever" seats were still available, even a couple high up behind the UConn bench in the lower bowl.

I have four and got two of my "forever" seats in one section but someone took the other two I had in my prime location. But, the two next to them in the same row were there so, while I didn't get those "forever" seats, I got the new "maybe-ever" seats right next to them.

Looked at all the upper chair back seat sections from section 1 to section 5, including all the 200 number sections between them, and there were lots of available seats so maybe it won't be as bad as many feared.

Same for the bench seating sections on the other side and corners of the court. Lots of seats available.

One rep I spoke with said it was very slow the first couple weeks but the pace has picked up and should be done in week and a half or so.

As I've read these last couple pages of posts, I thought it might be interesting to Chief and others who are questioning the current process to hear our experience. It's like Ground Hog Day because they're following a 30 year old formula (more on that thought later).

There are 40,498 donors according to our account data and, without being too specific, we're in the top 1,000 but don't get to pick our seats until tomorrow. That doesn't seem to add up until you recognize they need money and have to reward large donors, even if they're newbies. It all sounds like what we learned 30 years ago........donor level champions total points, so live it up while you can, even if you have "forever" seats.

In the mid-80's we made our first major donation to the fund for Gampel Pavilion. It gave us so many points our seats were moved to 103G at the then Civic Center. That's the first permanent row at center court across from the benches. Burr and Higgins could clearly hear me assessing the quality of their calls.

Edit: I just got off a call to the ticket office and the representative told me I was incorrect about my ranking. The one I quoted above is my "hall of fame" ranking for all sports while my ranking at Gampel is #408 overall so that's why my selection time is tomorrow. He also said there were not many per day selecting at Gampel to this point and that seems to fit with what he told me my priority is. He said it's by total points and that I am not correct that donor level is the first priority. My apologies to the process!

No better seats unless you like to be behind the UConn bench and we had them for about 6-8 years before some changes began. First, after the "Dream Season" we were moved a few seats toward the baseline. Then a few more until we were moved up a row, etc. Corporate donors were buying in and we were being surrounded by "transients" from the opposing teams for Big East games. The worst were PC and Georgetown fans by the way.

When 1995 rolled around we had a deal with another couple: if the men made the FF my friend and I would go and if the women made it our wives would go.....after all we couldn't all be in two places at once. When the women made it I called Ben Kirtland the first morning of ticket allocations to order for our wives and he politely told me our slot was that afternoon because we were now only in the second highest donor group.

He explained that they had changed the seat allocation process for post-season tickets to reward those in the groups providing the greatest support. Basically tickets would be allocated first by donor group and then by points within each group.

I told him that meant that those of us who were supporting the team for years would be bypassed by someone, for example, who donated more than us this year even if they had only 10% as many total points. He told me we were still benefiting from our total points because season tickets are allocated based on total points, regardless of the group we were in and we benefit for 18 to 20 games annually while the guy with one big donation only gets priority for post-season tickets. He had no answer when I asked if it ever occurred to him post-season tickets were why many of us supported the team for years.

So, I was going to say nothing's changed, but it has. The granting of preference for those in the highest donor groups has been extended from just being for post-season tickets to now being for regular season tickets as well.

They need money to compete and it's probably much more difficult now than in the 90's. We need to join any league with a good media package or this will only get worse. The finances are the elephant in the room and they're losing a great deal of good will by forging ahead with changes to the latest system they promised was "forever". Maybe there's some psychology majors here that can offer theories on how this could have been better handled.
If the seat selection is by total priority points, why were almost half the seats gone before the Seat Selection process started. What do they call the selection process that happened before that?
We are not just talking Premier Seats but a vast amount of regular seats in each lower level section.

NIL Sponsors and some held back for single game. I don’t agree with what they did but to think high donors took most of the missing seats is ludicrous. What was left was done in order of points

Picking tomorrow and man the pickings are scarce. My whole section was gone days ago. I have my eye on something and hope it's still there tomorrow.

I just picked. Ended up 2 rows closer in Hartford and 4 or 5 rows further back in Gampel (same section I was in). I'm ticked because my Gampel seats were great (second row behind the basket on UConn bench side). But I hear you Vancat - I literally watched my backup tickets vanish as I was on - they were already in someone's cart. My new forever seats are locked in

Got our seats today. Small move half a section more towards the corner from the baseline. Not a huge deal, still great seats. I understand that they need to maximize donations, and I understand that by putting in the boxes, a lot of people were going to have to downgrade their seats. All that being said, it's still a bitter pill to swallow; giving a larger donation and ending up with worse seats.

Picking tomorrow. All backups and alternative good options are gone... At Gampel. Looked so the total cost for 2 seats broken down over 8 games...

Are these seats even worth it. Who can speak on the idea forgoing season tickets and playing the secondary market for the games they want only, instead of paying for $200+ for those early games that aren't even worth $5-10 when the season rolls around?

If you’re targeting weekday games you can get in the door vs. any team for <$40. Weekend games, especially in Gampel, goes for over $100. It really depends on schedule.

The highest priced game last year, Creighton on a Saturday at Gampel, went for over $100. St John’s on a Friday night in Gampel was less, about $50 to get in the door last minute.
Baylor, at Gampel on a Tuesday, tickets plummeted to $15-20 an hour before the tip. The XL schedule was trash so any game was $10-20 if you waited. The year before on a Saturday vs. Marquette (both teams ranked Top 5) the prices did not move under $175.

My advice: if you have a crew of 2-4 just buy seasons it’s 10x less stressful. If you fly solo you’ll save money buying game by game.

I enjoy how many who have gone say there’s a lot left yet some who are going are making it sound like the buildings empty.

Perhaps some of you have too high an opinion on what’s a good seat in a 10k arena with no bad views?

At Gampel, there are very few left in the lower bowl. There's plenty in the upper. If you are used to the lower, the upper is a large downgrade. Presently this is the lower bowl: (red nothing available, green has spotty seats and aisle seats very few)
