Because of course who wouldn't want to transfer from one bad BiG team to another bad BiG team? One of the more bizarre moves. What exactly does she gain?
Probably what @WBBTakeover suggests - a bit of control. The Rutgers coach wasn't having any of it.

I'm a fan. I really don't know what happened to this young lady. Obviously, she left because of the coaching change. She would have been great at Maryland but Brenda refused to recruit her. Her teammates at Arizona State may be even better. Brenda didn't recruit her either. Brenda is going to rely on three young PGs maybe.
Natasha Adair!

She is a exemplar of the need for advice and caution in an age of the portal, transfer and nil.

Her family and or representation really let her down in leading her into the cesspool that was Tempe last year.

Ironically if Molly Miller wanted to retain her it might have been in her best interest to remain. I'm guessing that coach Miller had a Geno heart heart with her.

Maybe, just maybe, she was looking for a fresh start....somewhere.....anywhere that would have her? Maybe the reason for her falling out with the Scarlet Knight program had to do with personal issues she had off court? I have no idea - purely speculation into the broad range of possibilities.

Regardless, good luck to her with her fresh start.

Another player whose stats don't tell the story of how valuable she is.
Arizona State has attracted several players who can be good assets to a rebuilding team. Gabby Elliott, a transfer from Penn State caught my attention. Former starter at Mich State before injuries. Was a double digit scorer for Penn State last season. Very athletic and great at defensive pressure from what I remember.

Do we really need a separate post for the “signing” of a transfer after they've already said where they're going?

Seems like overkill, especially for a 32% shooter.
This is a different system. She will have different numbers. Look at Spearman who went from 6.8 ppg at Miami to 25 ppg at Tennessee.

That surprises me. Does Tennessee have too many players in competition for minutes at this point?

Well, looks like Tennessee isn't trying to improve their efficiency numbers....
Tennessee is probably as financially committed to wbb as anyone in the country. Definitely near the top of however many schools are really splashing resources on both NIL and program. It's kind of crazy how long they've been only hanging around the fringe of good, but feels like only a matter of time til they finally find their way back to consistent top 10 fixture.

South Carolina and Mississippi have to be the only schools Barker has faced every year of her college career, right? NVRMIND. Also played Arkansas and LSU this year.
