OK, this is a bit of shameless local hucksterism, but I think that all the qualities that make my hometown such a frequent host of Super Bowls (the most!), Final Fours, and other great championship events were on full display this week. The French Quarter, the extraordinary food, the plethora of hotels all within walking distance of the venues...think of this next February when a Super Bowl will be played in February at an outdoor stadium (The Meadowlands) that no one can walk to and wouldn't want to...all of the people I talked to who traveled here to support all four teams just had a blast, at least until the followers of three got disappointed, but even they continued to have a great time. A lot of people complained that they had to return home to diet, but that was the only negative I heard!
