I noticed in the last 2-3 weeks that there are no more Gavin Keefe articles in the Day. Does anyone know what is going on at The Day? Or is Gavin Keefe on some kind of leave or sick? To cover the Huskies there are either AP articles or once in a while they have an article from the Courant (Joe Arruda), although I don't think the Times owns The Day.

So now we're down to only The Hartford Courant - Joe Arruda and Dom Amore, Hearst Media - Dave Borges and Mike Anthony (they own the New Haven Register, Journal Inquirer, Connecticut Post, Stamford Advocate, Middletown Press, etc.), and the Waterbury Republican-American - Roger Cleaveland, as part of The Horde. Remember when there were about 10 Connecticut papers with 15 or so beat writers covering the Huskies on a daily basis? One by one they're dropping like flies.

Gavin Keefe's twitter hasn't changed. It still shows him as a reporter for The Day. He just reposted this tweet:

I come here for all my info.
Except without the beat writers we wouldn't have all the information to post here, right? Unless some Yarders speak to Hurley and the team regularly. Was anyone on here on the Zoom call with Hurley today discussing the Butler game?

You know us insiders can’t divulge that info.

Those are all posted online. Times change. On the flip side of things our coaches seem to be doing more media than ever before. There are more podcasts covering this team than ever before (most are good). Storrs Central has great deep analytical breakdowns of each game. I’d rather have this than a bunch of beat writers covering the same interviews.
