I had tickets for tonight (they went to good hands) and cant go because I have a gig at Toads Place in New Haven. I HATE missing games of this magnitude for gigs, but the one show I cannot skip is a Toads Place gig (like I blew off last Saturdays gig to go to Buffalo) :).

Anyway, I know New Haven like the back of my hand, but not when it comes to Sports Bars, or ANY Bar that will be showing the game. My extensive New Haven Knowledge is of Music Clubs and Noodle Houses and Ah-beetz

I am lucky that My load-in and Sound Check is at 6:00 -7:00 pm. And I dont have to hit the stage to perform until 10:30, so I certainly have an ample window to catch the game live, which is a MUST.

I am looking for a place that is within a 10-15 minute walk of Toads (York ST) as I dont want to drive and re-park later.

I am trying to avoid Buffalo Wild Wings, off the New Haven Green, I hate that place, but will end up there if there is nowhere else.

Any recommendations?

Lived in New Haven the last eight years, there are no good sports bars here. Seriously, Buffalo Wild Wings on Church & Chapel is probably your best bet as pathetic as that sounds.

Black Bear on Temple St is decent but the TV's aren't that big (prob 42"), same with Cask Republic right around the corner on Crown. Or if you want to enjoy a cigar you can catch the game at the Owl Shop. O'Tooles is on Chapel & Orange, a bit more of a walk from Toad's and it's essentially the same thing as Black Bear or Cask Republic but will likely be less crowded.

Skull and Bones is somewhere down there within walking distance. PM me for the secret password.

Yeah its still open, the ones in Stamford and Norwalk closed down. But if you want to go to a buffalo wild wings there is one around the corner on church

Drive to Mohegan Sun… That place will be rocking tonight. Watched the Huskies beat down Kentucky in the semis back in 2011… The Kemba Walker chant had people coming from all parts of the casino to see what was going on… Awesome!

need to read OP. I have to stay in New Haven. I am off the leash from 7-10 in New Haven already and without a car, and then have to go back to "work".
