Another thing about Chamberlain. The NBA put in the three second rule and widened the lane to end Chamberlain's dominance in the center. They actually changed the rules to stop him.

And for those who think that today's athletes were superior to Wilt. He high jumped 6'-6" in high school. It is hard to separate the fact from fiction but it has been said at Kansas he ran a 10.9 hundred, shot putted 56 feet, triple jumped 50+ feet.

they did similar things for Miken and Shaq. The NBA has seemingly always been anti big man. Which is a shame. It’s the best part of the game imo.

Chamberlain also led the league in total assists one year, averaged over 30 pts 22 rbs and 4 assists for career.

As someone who's approaching 50, my basketball started with Bird and Magic.

Overall, I'd go

Jordan
Magic
Jabbar
Chamberlain
'Bron
Duncan
Bird
Shaq
Oscar
Karl Malone

I'm pretty firm on 1&2. You can convince me to move 3-5 in any order.

6-10 you can shuffle a few ways without much of a fight from me.

Kobe is hanging around top 10.

Did you skip Bill Russell or just not a fan? My son ranks him #1, while I have Jordan.

I knew I was forgetting someone. I put him somewhere around 5-6.

Still put Jabbar and Wilt ahead of him because they transformed the rules of the game. Would love to have seen him on some "average" teams and then add him to the mix to see his impact. Of course it could be argued his teams had all that success because of him.
