Boston paper. No surprise there. Put that in USA Today and Holy Cross isn't the best program of all time...

Ben Gordon wipes the floor with Ronnie Perry.

Go thru the bracket and see how many of those New England "ballers" are sporting NCAA Champion rings. Im guessing Ben, Kemba, Rip, Emeka, etc. would gladly take the ring over the Boston Globe best player in New England fantasy bracket.

Gordan should have made the final four in his region.
Right, once again nothing before 1990 even exists on this board. Marvin was twice the player Ben Gordon was and Jimmy Walker was another step entirely above that.

I love how a paper from boston has a guy from umass in camby knocking off two huskys back to back.

Right. How many NCAA titles did they win?

Marvin Barnes averaged 16pts a game in 8 professional seasons including a whopping 9.2 a game in the NBA. In college he averaged just over 20. Impressively he did average 17.9 boards and led the country in rebounding and was the #2 pick.

Ben Gordon has averaged 15.6 points a game over 10 seasons all in the NBA. Ben was the third pick in the NBA draft and sports a national championship ring he earned while scoring 18.5 points and pulling down 5 rebounds a game.

While Barnes was a wildly better rebounder (as you would expect in comparison to a 6'2 guard) I think youre being a little exuberant to call him twice the player Gordon was.

Walker, well, he was on another level.

The Boston Globe best player in New England fantasy bracket winner has the same ring our guys have. I can't argue about the last two.

This thing was only referring to college where outside of this board you would be hard pressed for anyone to say that Ben Gordon was a better college player than Marvin Barnes.

Edit, you are right he was not twice the player, Ben Gordon was and still is a great player, just not on the level Marvin was. Though honestly not many player were, what a waste though.

You didn't say "better" you said "twice the player".
