And you say all of that to say what exactly? You fire a national championship division 1 UCONN Alumni coach that you willfully hired and extended an enforceable contract then you pay that man the money owed per the contract or alternate agreed buyout. That is how this is supposed to work. It didn't happen that way by choice of the AD. UCONN implemented their nuclear option and eventually so did Mr. Kevin Ollie. It is what it is. There were a lot of people responsible for this situation across the board; plenty of blame to go around. Why all of the vitriol toward's Kevin Ollie? Why let every other individual responsible for the situation off of the hook? What's up with that man? This entire situation was preventable. There were a team of folks being paid really good money to make sure this did not happen. It's SOOOO EASY, SOOOOO CONVENIENT to put this all on poor Kevin Ollie that has never done anything for our beloved University of Connecticut as a student, player, Alumni, advocate, assistant coach and head coach. You take it all..the good with the bad. That's how you treat family. Fire the guy for performance and pay him whatever money is due him per his contract. If broke ass Connecticut doesn't have the money or can't find the money then you don't fire him. It's the reason you have a damn contract. This would have been a tough deal for our University but we just would have needed to deal with it. UCONN, our beloved school chose a different path to deal with the situation and this is the cost that has to be paid. Simple as that. All of the character assassination of this guy is not going to change anything. Kevin is fired, gone, fighting the way he is supposed to fight after being bent over and crapped on. It's ugly, nasty and unfortunate all the way around. This was the most foreseeable outcome. Our beloved school made a bad bet, called his bluff and now we all have to pay for it.
