New Coaches Poll Out

You rarely see such a divergence of opinion on one team as again attaches to Minnesota, with a difference of essentially 17 places, with AP mirroring Massey's #20 rating with a #21 ranking and Coaches going more with Sagarin's #35 rating at essentially #38.

Hey, did you know that the current top two teams are scheduled to play on February 9? I just received word of it because I'd never seen ESPN mention it before.

Again I ask... ......Where's The Beach?
Long Beach State 49'ers

With a #214 SOS Long Beach would have to be undefeated to get a look. Still at #64 in Sagarin.

There are only 3 teams in the AP Top 25 from non-P5 conferences and 4 in the Coach's poll.

There would have been 5/6 from the old Big East... plus a few more "also receiving votes"... :(

Sagarin and Massey ratings know better, since the their numbers actually keep track of what's going on instead of depending on the moderate-to-shallow cogitations of coaches and writers, some of whom at least do not pay attention to what's going, as with the early votes for bad-from-the-start PSU and the current love given to Georgia with its #92 SOS schedule and 16-3 record.

Sagarin has 5 teams and Massey 6 in the top 25 that are from the D&P28, including UConn, Princeton, Green Bay, South Florida, George Washington, and Western KY.
