Don't know how Syracuse is till ranked #23. They lost all 5 games to ranked opponents.

Georgia is ranked only because they have a familiar WBB name, they haven't accomplished anything so far this year. Pathetic OOC Schedule enabled them to build wins and playing in SEC conference helps them with voters.

Georgia had what looked like a good win -- they blew out Michigan St in the first half. The Spartans were picked to be a BiG title contender. But they have fallen off a cliff and are not looking good to even make the tourney.

Syracuse is a tough case. Theyve lost to South Carolina, Baylor, and Duke, but by a combined 8 points.

Baylor and Louisville have not played a single top ten team and the highest ranked team they've played, an up and down Kentucky team, they lost to.

Yep, as I said in another thread, not a lot of cognitive energy goes into the voting.

After last night and upon further thought, I'd drop Texas to #9 and move Bay/OreSt/Md up a spot. And Washington hovering just below the top 20.

After our beatdown of them last night, plus their two previous losses to unranked teams (Iowa St. and OU), Texas is goind to fall like rock.

I have to eat crow. OU is much better than I thought. I got to watch some of their game vs. OKST yester day. Shari has them playing well. And is her typical . . . . well, you know.

Sounds like you are making the case that RPI is a silly system...but then again, I've observed your vehement defense of the brain dead system. You can't have it both ways.

As I've said many times, the RPI is one of many tools the committee uses. And the committee _should_ be looking at many factors. Anyone hoping for a perfect, fool-proof ranking system will be severely disappointed.
