NEW AAC BLOG HOME!!!!!!

Hey UConn fans - most of live in the state where ESPiN calls home. Shall we organize some sort of peaceful protest? It's alot easier for us to do it than any other fanbase in our conference. Who knows? Maybe a few disgruntled UConn alum employees can help!
"We're not going to protest! We're not going to protest! We're not going to protest!"

I was just about to post this. I emailed Des about this just now. I encourage you all to blow him up. I also told him that the ESPN blog was beneficial to him and the courant since they frequently posted links to their articles.
Lol....the day Des does something useful with his blog is the day pigs fly....sorry. I've already stated my feelings about the so called UConn football blog on the courant in another thread. It's a waste of server space.

Des emailed me back. He said he's "on it!" I hope he can probe ESPN and Aresco and get this elevated... get another story out there. Make some noise people!

We need all the help we can get!

We need a sugar daddy to create the highest payout college football bowl for this conference: The [] Money Bowl. A second high payout bowl should be: The AAC F the rest of U bowl.

I think a couple hundred million dollars a year could really change the dynamic.

LOL.

I liked Desmond's coverage last year and I thought he got short changed because he wouldn't say what people here and on his chats wanted to hear (which is really not his job in the first place). But over the last 6 months or so, I have found that the UConn football coverage by the Courant to be severely deficient.

The removal of the AAC from the ESPN Blogs is absolutely in the interest of the UConn football fan (you know, his beat?) and he's a day late in covering it and the occupy protests. I know he was laid up with a foot injury, but he's not training. does it really take that long to recover (Not in my experience)? Maybe he's angling for a job at ESPN.

Secondly, I am starting to come around to all this Syracuse Twitter BS. Is there a way the Courant can set up a professional Twitter account while Mr. Conner maintains his personal account (Courant_Dez or something?)? As a UConn FB fan, we'd be able to unfollow Desmond's personal account and read only those tweets dedicated to UConn football (you know his beat?). I couldn't care less about the Orange's survival guide to the ACC.

Edit: for context...

I thought Des' coverage of the BET Awards and the CNN special on race relations in modern America was top-notch.

It was really relevant to his role with the Courant, too.

I use to enjoy Dez's coverage but I agree that unless he can do the work he needs a sub to come in and help him. The new changes to posting are ridiculous and no longer will I post there. His tweets about his likes are not what should be on that blog.... just sports. If he wants to step up to ESPN he better start churning out real articles and stories not just rehash everything else someone else has done. Very disappointing for Husky fans.

I miss Zac Boyer...

I still read him, but that's only because I'm a 'Skins fan. Follow John Silver on SNY. He's been pretty good.

I like the idea of separating a personal Desmond Conner twitter account and a UConn beat account. I could not care less about Syracuse or anything else non-UCONN. I/we follow him for his professional access to the team and school that we love. Not for gloating about Syracuse in the Big East Tourney while UConn was improperly banned from playing!

So, those perspectives really weren't part of the Courant's coverage of UCONN-specific sports topics? ;)

Yeah, I hate when human beings express opinions that aren't explicitly part of their job requirements. Perhaps we should set fire to his house?

That's not the point and you know it.

No, I don't know it. I think media personalities should absolutely be allowed to express opinions about all kinds of things on avenues like Twitter. That's almost exactly what Twitter is for -- for people to be able to express opinions about minutiae that they would otherwise not have the opportunity to do so.

If Des wants to tweet about the NAACP or My Little Pony on his Twitter feed, I don't mind. That's totally what it's there for. Sorry people feel he has an obligation to write only about UConn football exclusively.

Are you saying Des is a Brony?

Oh for Crissakes. I can't believe you actually did miss the point...

I couldn't care much less if Mr. Conner wants to Tweet about Jimmy Durante and dancing to the Hurdy Girdy. That is why I advocated the Courant set up a Twitter account for UConn Football related items (You know, his beat?). Most places of business set employees up with work e-mail accounts and advocate their use for work related activity only. I don't see how or why Twitter has to be much different.

Des and I probably agree on everything socially and politically. My point was that he should be able to have a separate account for that from UConn FB.

Is that Limbo game any good or do you just like the artwork?

How has thread gone on this far without the first....

...what's good?
