>>Blackwell does carry a little bad body weight but has the frame to reshape his body and easily carry 330lbs of good body weight which would be needed to take the pounding as a NT in college. He is a high motor player that takes good pursuit angles to give backside chase and is deceptively fast enough to run down ball carriers which is rare for a player his side, an he will only get faster with strength training.<<

Blackwell is 323 pounds, interest from Penn State and Rutgers. Obviously, coming in as a NT.

Blackwell an excellent field athlete. Shotput, javelin, discus. Upper body strength there.

>>UConn is playing with Julian Campenni, 6-0, 300-pounds and Mikal Myers, 6-0, 310-pounds at NT right now. Campenni is a junior, Myers a sophomore, so there is development time there when Blackwell gets here. Blackwell is the No. 15 commit of the 2015 class. the Huskies do have some big guys on the DL coming in. Kevin Murphy is a highly regarded recruit from Pennsylvania and figures to be on the edge in a 3-4 alignment. Blackwell is the classic plug at the nose and there is Phillipe Okunam from Canada via New Hampshire who is a pass rusher.<<

Great recruit and can't wait to see him after a couple seasons with Balis. Welcome aboard!

Are we sure he isn't moving to OL? Or one of our current NT's?

He has really quick feet for that size. Impressive.

I think he would be great for the DL, or the OL (since quick feet seems to be what's missing on the OL right now). Seems he is earmarked for the NT though. We'll see.

A guy that size with athleticism like that is a good get either way. good to see.

I like the track and field events. Besides upper body strength they all require footwork. Obviously there's work to be done with his body composition. Kids don't come out of HS with that size in the correct locations.

Welcome to the family Felton. You will be part of the turnaround. Wait till this kid works with Matt Balis!

Looks like we got ourselves a warthog NT for our new 3-4 defense. Someone who will eat up blockers in the middle.

Nice! A year in the strength and conditioning program, while also learning from Campenni and Myers is going to be awesome.

I have watched highlights of most of the commits, and I love the size and athleticism.

YES!!!! Looks like we have our 3-4 anchor to pair with a couple of DE studs. Can we just fast-forward to the 2015-16 seasons yet?

He made the offensive line guys look small. I can see him needing double teams in college if he works hard. Massive legs. Welcome trey. Seems like a great get

Next to him, they are!! haha

Other offers were Central CT, Monmouth, and Morgan State.
