Netflix: Riverdale

So my wife was watching this the other day - episode 8 or so. And I was sort of riveted. And then I heard the character names...Archie, Jughead, Veronica, etc...and I'm like WTF?

It's like Gossip Girl meets a murder mystery - sounds like the dumbest thing that anyone could come up with...but it is excellent in doing what it is supposed to do. Really entertaining.

My wife was just talking about that show with some friends. She loved it, and she thought I'd like it as well. She's got a pretty good read on my entertainment preferences too. I need to check it out.

My daughter likes it. I thought it was a clever idea when I heard about it. Luke Perry as Archie's dad is a fun casting decision. I have to give credit to CW, they have the pulse of teens better than anybody.

I watched it recently on Netflix and thought it was an enjoyable summer view. Read a lot of Archie comics as a kid, and went to summer camp with the son of the founder who is now the CEO (and who looks like cartoon Jughead).

We liked it enough to follow through to the end of the season but I think that's it.

I almost didn't recognize Molly Ringwald as Archie's mom. She's apparently had quite a bit of work done. That said, thought she still looked good.
