NET: 11

The Big East has 12 top 100 players committed for the 2025 class already, and that's before the transfer portal happens which is where a lot of these schools have been bringing in their impact guys. Maybe those guys don't get lots of NBA buzz, but they're going to be good college players which is all that matters for how the Big East is perceived
Maybe, let’s hope. 4 of those 12 are UConn, and of the remaining 8 half are 85 plus. Not insignificant but nothing like the P4. Houston just jumped us in class rank having landed their 3rd five star. Kelvin has always been a great coach, but not recognized as a top recruiter.

Most of the frosh buzz factor comes with kids recognized at the HS level as NBA talent. Fans get REALLY excited for that. As long as we sit put our hoops model may end up having to take the Duke path, heavy on branding/unique culture and being selective with a certain type of player (which has already been established). It’s why these last two NCs and the new stable of NBA draft picks has been so important and at a critical juncture - momentum to sustainability despite a league that may be left behind some.

The ACC isn’t selling much either these days as having another top heavy league. It’s mind blowing at how bad their hoops product has become top bottom. It’s a 2 team league and even UNC feels like they’re trending in the wrong direction. Davis couldn’t buy a decent 5 in the portal or HS this year despite the glaring hole.

80% of the AP top 20 as of right now is made up of 3 leagues, with Gonzaga, UConn, Marquette and Duke being the exceptions.

I wonder if Danny pulls the iron sharpening iron out this year ;). Feels more like lead.

We now have 4 Quad 1 wins. Tied with Oregon with 2nd most. Auburn has 6.
Lots of BE teams hovering around 75 in NET.....need some of Xavier, Butler, Creighton, Nova, GTown, Prov, DePaul to get & stay on the good side of 75 so we have chance for Quad 1 Road wins., Quad 1 Home win opportunities look to be limited to Marquette & St. Johns only at this point.

Those 4 games with Marquette & St. John's are huge to say the least....and all in Feb.

Oh, they beat Purdue and Wisconsin and I thought one or both would be Quad 1.
I feel like both of those will be eventually will move up as these numbers start to normalize with a larger sample, but right now those are both home games against the #34 and #36 teams and need to be top 30

We currently have 4 Q1 wins (Gonzaga, Baylor, @Texas, @Butler) as of today's update (tied with Oregon for 2nd most...Auburn has the most with 6).

Not the entire non-conference but the cupcakes were like high school teams.
TBF Stonehill is much improved from last year. Still a cupcake, but a NET ~270's cupcake versus a 350's one like last year. I think they were literally one of the worst teams in D1 last year.

Looking ahead at the schedule it’s going to be interesting to see what our BE record is going into the the Feb 1 clash with Marquette. Both teams should be favorites in their next 8, which could make for a real hum dinger. I’m sure both will see an unexpected loss or two, but would think squarely a top 10 matchup given the teams ahead of us having conference gauntlets.

Funny you’re happy with the 270 one. Last time I looked 5 of them were above 300 and 3 were above 350.

The way to game the NET unfortunately is to play 5 teams sub-300. The rest would be against major conference opponents. Butler, cough, forgot to do this and got stung twice and almost a third time.

that's one part. also need to aim to play as many teams on the low end of their quadrants as possible. so probably tournament bubble teams on neutral courts.

The way to game the NET is to be good at basketball. There‘s no magic to sub 300 games, some are positive, some are negative.
