Gilbert Arenas' original Instagram post has gotten over 12,700 comments so far - click the orange text in the second line of the article linked above. Don't click it if you don't want to see it. Or if you like Gilbert Arenas and still want to like him.
 
That was some comment. Glad to see pretty much everyone call him out. It's just such a piggish thing to say.
 
What else can we expect from this supposedly sentient being? He also tweeted out a meme stating, "Good girls lose, hoes are winning."
 
I only read the tweets, not the original. Based on that, I break it out into two parts. If he had just said "to boost attendance they should wear thongs" would be just joking (and true).
It's similar to someone making a comment about men's lacrosse and speedos, which might be tasteless. I think more folks would watch lacrosse until the novelty wore of- don't you (be honest). I do not think there would be an uproar.

The part about players' beauty IS offensive as it would be about anyone.

Arenas is a punk and a convicted felon. Why is anyone listening to him?

OTOH I seem to remember a time when the LPGA encouraged players to dress provocatively on the course in order to boost attendance. I think it was in the pre thong era though. :rolleyes:
 
Gilbert was the fellow who brought a gun into the Washington Wizards' locker room in 2009 and made light of it afterwards. (This, when the Wizards had pointedly changed its name from the "Bullets.") He then was dropped by Adidas, shipped out of DC, and last was seen in China. His other accomplishments, according to Wikipedia include: "he ran about 60 red lights in 4 months and got away with it by keeping his dealer plates on his vehicle. On June 27, 2013, Arenas was arrested by the Los Angeles Police Department for the possession of illegal fireworks. On December 16, 2015, Arenas made a statement about the WNBA that led to some commotion," This thread is about the "commotion." In fairness, Gilbert was frequently charitable and involved in the DC community. He was a likeable person with a ready smile. But you have to conclude that the man has some boundary issues. He has earned his anonymity.

Wow! What a morning. Sooo thankful that I have been exonerated of guilt by association. And to hear that I am beloved is icing on the cake! Thanks, Miami. :cool:

Just to unerringly prove my innocence though, I'll gladly provide my DNA that will substantiate that I am in fact of the "Java" species. Whereas the subject of this post, as is quite evident, is of the "Juvenile" species.
 
I also thought Neanderthals were extinct until I looked in the mirror.
 
There is significant Neanderthal genetics in many of us.
