An old coach struggling with a FCS squad in an opener.

How does NDSU recruit anyone? How does that pitch go?
 
KSU will pull away eventually, but this is the best game of the night so far. Lots of energy on both sides.

NDSU was picked as a good play by the guy on 24/7 a couple days ago.
 
NDSU kid just completely miffed a ball in the endzone. Followed up by the kicker clanging one off the left goalpost.

KSU fans are really into it and NDSU brought a TON of people at least.

NDSU and UND fans are small in numbers due to population, but they are incredibly loyal and travel extraordinarily well for their teams.
 
Stuff happens in college football. Sometimes the little guy pulls off the big upset, but if you are going to go down, this is how you go down. KSU made NDSU play a perfect game. While KSU made some mistakes tonight, they played with energy and hit hard all night. They made NDSU earn it.

We just gave it to Towson last night. They didn't even have to play their A game.

I know I will get blasted because I am a UofL fan, but come on UConn, you have come too far to give up on an entire season. Play that gritty UConn style, beat Michigan, and we will see you down the road. As Cardinal fan, I always look forward to the UConn game because I know it will be a knock down, drag out type of affair. I am sorry for the drunken diatribe, but I hate to see a team that I respect give up hope instead of fighting back...I truly hope your players are thinking the same. The season is not over because of one unfocused loss. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if Ohio knocks us off on Sunday.

Yes your post will inspire UConn fans who in turn inspire UConn who in turn beat Maryland and Michigan, but still lose to Louisville helping them in the polls and their quest for the National Championship.

Your message board posts don't impact the games. Pretending you think Louisville might lose to Ohio proves your insincerity.
 
I am pretending nothing. OHIO is a damned good team with a seasoned QB and a great running back. Why do you think UConn will automatically lose to Louisville---they didn't last year. Just because your team came out flat in game one (see defending Big 12 champ KSU) and that the season is lost, or I am not sincere, I just don't get your negativity toward what I said.

The season isn't lost and I've got a few thousand words on that tomorrow.

Ohio is not a damned good team. They are the kind of team a top 10 team buries at home.

You care about UConn because every win they get helps Louisville. If Louisville was in the ACC this year you wouldn't be here - so let's not pretend why you care about UConn.

Finally, yes, If Louisville was in in the ACC this year I wouldn't be posting here---but we aren't, and neither are you, although I wish you and Cincy were.
 
Can the NDSU QB win the Heisman? What a performance. The most amazing part of that game was the number of NDSU fans that traveled to the game, they were rocking the place. I guess when harvest is over the entire state travels.

Back to my original question: how does NDSU get anyone to go there? There was a lot of legitimate FBS level talent on that squad. NDSU is not in Miami, Vegas or San Diego, they are in Fargo, North Freaking Dakota. What is the pitch to recruits? Is Fargo this awesome college town that no one knows about? Are the Fargo women smoking hot? I don't know how anyone could tell, since they are probably wearing double parkas by the time midnight madness tips off.

What is the pitch?

Maybe they tell them they can play for a wildly enthusiastic and supportive fanbase and their program wins national titles?

Snyder was a class act as usual afterward, taking responsibility for the loss and saying he was outcoached. Quite a bit different from how Pasqualoni handled it.

I have been there. They play in a rather nice indoor stadium and they get a tremendous amount of fan support for an FCS program. It's an FCS program with an FBS feel. They also win a lot.
 
2010: NDSU 6 Kansas 3. Finished the season 9-5
2011: NDSU 37 Minnesota 24. Finished the season 14-1 (Nat'l Champion)
2012: NDSU 22 Colo. St. 7. Finished the season 14-1 (Nat'l Champion)

37-7 overall record in the past three seasons, 2 national championships, and 4 straight victories against the FBS. My question is how can we get this guy to coach here?
