ND has Mentality to Compete with Uconn

The University of Tennessee has filed a complaint, via Vanderbilt, with the SEC office, and thence to the NCAA, that ESPN, located in the state of .. wait for it.. CONNECTICUT.. has accused Notre Dame University of "being mental".

Ah, the mental part of the game. We now have teams employing psychological coaches to massage the thoughts and egos of our sports heroes. Does Muffet really believe that ND gets to the FF because they will it? This is something like clicking your heels together 3 times in order to get to Kansas. I prefer the old Wade Boggs approach: eat fried chicken before every game.

Mentality won't put the ball in the net. I'm disappointed that we have to beat them again at less than full strength.
What are you talking about? The Irish are undefeated and have 2 more wins than UConn. And since they once back in the days of yore won 7 of 8 against UConn en route to halfway decent showing in the , you know they "have UConn's number" and are all set to do it again, maybe. Injuries, schminjuries, you plug in some players and just plow onward to that second NC title. Nice story line if it works.

I think that ND is one of the two mentally toughest programs in the country. Though I didn't care for Skylar, she was the one who first gave them confidence against us. Yeah, they beat us 7 out of 8. I believe 6 of those were insanely close--OT or one basket.

Shoots, we have two players down too. And they are pretty good ones at that.

Oh yeh, I forgot that.:p

It's just a shame that BOTH teams might be missing 2 key post players this Saturday.

ND has several strong three point shooters and our perimeter defense has been a bit shaky...doomed for sure!

Maybe Mabrey has run clinics for their entire team on how to draw or initiate incidental contact, flail the arms, catapult 9' backwards, sit on the floor looking at nearest official with an expression of "poor me", and then glare to the other 2 officials if you don't get the call from the nearest official, then glare over to Muppet in disbelief in the rare occurrence of a no call. In that rare occurrence, UConn was already scoring a basket before she even got off the floor. I will bet - every ball handler will be racing into the lane initiating contact, which was one of the keys to their prior success, with Stewie and all of our team. Their only hope is /20-30 foul shots and our stars in foul trouble. Those were "Good Times"!

We'll see how remembering what happened last year motivates the Irish. These post game interviews contained the most refreshingly honest comments I've ever heard from players.
