ND does a great job with their videos on their Sports Programs. In the Video Muffett reminds me of Tara Stanford's Coach

Didn't show any highlights of the Final UConn/ND Game in New Orleans. :)

I'm sure it was because they did the video prior to the FF. ;)

Well done video though. Easy to see why they can pull in good recruits.

Very true, as long as you define excellence as 2nd place. Ha!

Their website is excellent too. ND is a recruiting machine with big bucks falling out of every pocket.

Shocked they didn't show the last game! :p

Although Muffet's recruiting has picked up, I was very surprised that she wasn't able to do more with the 2001 championship. I thought she'd be able to parlay that success and the ND brand into better success on the recruiting trail. Her best recruits have been from Indiana (Morgan, Riley, Batteast, Bruiser, Diggins, Reimer) or nearby Chicago (Peters, Loyd). But for Diggins' desire to stay home (rather than win NCs at Stanford), that video would have looked a lot different.

It was interesting that as the players and the announcer talked about winning the national championship, the video showed the team holding the 2013 Women's Basketball Champion trophy - the Big East trophy. Anyone not knowing the facts could easily be led to believe than ND won the championship. Slick piece of marketing.

It strikes me that recruiting was always Muffet's weakest point as a coach, but it has picked up dramatically since one of those 2001 players, Niele Ivey, joined the staff.

Part of Muffet's issue was a chemistry one. She got Batteast, who never seemed to mesh on the court with Ratay, for whatever reason. She had some good players, but not tuly elite ones, and when Ratay and Batteast did not gel on the court (for whatever reason; they had different styles; it does not always mesh well, notwithstanding the best coaching), it set the Irish back a little.

1995, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2009, 2010, and 2013 called. They said ND can take its tradition of excellence and stick it where the sun don't shine, quite frankly.
