NCAA tourny thread

As a resident of CT I never considered a Phillly team as being a Northeast team. That’s mid Atlantic to me. The only team I really care about is UConn.
Lol, Philly is in the Northeast. It's 2 hours from Fairfield County.

Overall weak day of games. Mostly blowouts, and only one came down to the final possession.

Aren't you a UConn fan?

I'm a Stony Brook fan, first. Yeah, its rough being a fan of a mid-major
I follow UConn as my second favorite team (the wife attended during 2010-14, 2x nat champs)
and I root for the Northeast in the NCAA.

You guys are crazy with this geography stuff. Everything north of DC is today generally considered NE. It's part of the NE super dense megalopolis.

I think you’re I’ll informed about who we would root for. If some mid-major from the northeast(like Stony Brook) made a run almost all of us would be rooting for them, unless they are playing against an AAC team.

I once heard someone from Maryland say “as a person from a northeastern state...”

I almost barfed.

Yeah... you are one of those that still in stuck in civil war era geography.

If you visit DC and Maryland today you know that is not South geographically and it doesn't feel south culturally either.

The cultural divide happens right in Northern virginia

Since when do you have to be North or South? Northeast to me is New England, NY, PA, NJ.

DE, MD, DC, VA is Mid-Atlantic

I didn't know we were all rooting against all other Northeast teams.

Interesting.

You guys have been wishing death to the Big East and to the northeast P5 teams for a long time now. Nova was the only team carrying the banner for the entire region. Look at what happens when Nova falls early. Not a single Northeast team in the R16 (unless Buffalo surprises, and Western NY is not exactly what we associate with the Northeast)

There's only 2 NE teams that damn near everyone wishes death upon. SU and BCU. For different reasons.

Some don't like Providence, but the numbers don't hold up there.

New England + Mid-Atlantic are both sub-regions of the Northeastern United States. Anyway, this geography discussion is kinda pointless because it means different for everyone. I generally see the northeast highly-urbanized corridor from DC to Boston as Northeast nowadays

Going back to the original point. UConn fans should sleep well tonight knowing the region is unrepresented in the tourney. Its a good night

Kansas just isn't that good without Aubuike and Vick. Auburn is the far better team.

No DeSousa either. There’s some talent, no experience except Lawsons. Auburn is also playing lights out. But yeah, they are the better team. When Auburn is on, they can beat anyone. Showed it in SEC tourney.

Thanks for applying a generalization to the entire fanbase as if you have absolutely any clue to our rooting preferences.

Have a great night.

The point is that no UConn fan cares about the northeast region teams.

Who dislikes Boston University? I hate St, Johns. Always have.

At this point I merely want UConn’s league to show it is better than the Big East and is the real P6. So far it has. Next year it will be even more clear.

Just realized that when Gonzaga and FSU meet...FSU will have played all four national #1 seeds this year...

Six games vs a #1 seed....got to be some sort of record.
