NCAA Tourney games

I’m not talking about the ones who left. I’m saying those on the court with HH did not look like ND level players.

They weren’t all panic replacements. Someone decided to invest time, scholarships, and NIL on getting them to South Bend.
Yeah, she didn't have much help.

Not sure how easy it is for and to get transfers in or what they're working with. There was so much turnover that may not have looked attractive either. Don't know.

I thought Duke was really poor in the third quarter. Turnovers on like 5 possessions in a row. Did ucla’s defense really cause those turnovers? Or did Duke just shoot themselves in the foot?

I think dugalic is a problem for every team still in the tournament. She is going to be hard to match up with and opponents should just hope she settles for the 3.

Texas, South Carolina, UConn, any other team that faces UCLA needs to find a way to keep them off the glass.
I really like Dugalic game. She is an Olympian, and 24 turning 25 this calendar year, so I feel she's kind of a pro already. In fairness to her she missed a full year and played injured another, on top of the COVID year. So I'm empathetic. I think she'll get drafted and make a roster. She's a legit 6'4, and can do all the things. It would've been cool to see her healthy on a team where she was the featured post but credit to her for playing the 6th women role.
Quick thing on Duke. I am a fan of Toby Fournier. I actually really like their whole team. They had a great season after such a slow start. I really hope over the next two years Toby improves 15 ft and in. I like her aggression, physicality, using angles. But I think she has to be able to shoot a bit better. Its funny because she's serviceable from 3, but everything else is crashing towards the basket to finish.

It's a shame that we already have two stretch-fours we're likely to protect in Janelle Salaun and Iliana Rupert, because otherwise I think Dugalic would be a great fit for the Valkyries - 3 pt shooting and relentless defense, boxing out, and rebounding. She was my personal MVP yesterday because when she came in in the second half, that's when things turned around for UCLA. They had a couple of neat high-low passes from Laurent to Sienna that were quite effective, but in general I think Dugalic should have played starter minutes against a long, rangy Duke team. She was absolutely the difference maker, and she got a great write-up in the Athletic for it. Gift article link:
