NCAA Tourney games

I feel like Chavez shares some of the endearing and infuriating qualities of Arike Ogumbowale. At times she can be electric but most nights she takes too many ill-advised shots too early in the clock without trying to run a set or get her team involved.

she takes a lot of shots you don't mind her taking.

I would say shot selection and usage rate probably have a lot to do with what I believe I saw.

I think beers also got less touches than she would have liked at times.

Verhulst I thought had a better junior season. I think verhulst was on ball more and even did some work as a point forward before Chavez arrived.

So, I just think they didn’t enjoy their basketball as much this season. It just never really clicked imo.

Beers was criminally underused in that offense.

Now, that their season is over. I will be honest and give you my perspective as a game watcher.

I never got the feeling watching Oklahoma that Verhulst and Beers liked playing with Chavez.

That could be true. They did help to recruit her to OU, though.

And, if you believe Chavez's reason for picking OU was because she wanted to attend a program where the head coach would "let her play her game", then Coach B kept her word even if it might have not set well with seniors Beers and Verhulst who were the primary offensive options one season ago.

I actually think there could be some resentment/jealousy. They probably heard all the rumors during her recruitment that her Dad was asking for a $1 million NIL payout. And, then the rumor was that Jordan Brand with help from Trae Young and his Dad came up with $1.5 million to sign with OU. No way Beers or Verhulst were earning NIL close to that amount.

I found myself thinking Beers might just as well have stayed at Oregon State. I think she could have played in a sweet sixteen. OU could use another post for next season. How attractive is OU going to look to true post recruits.
I could see Crooks there should she enter

Look like all 1 Seeds will be in the Final Four. From today’s scores I don’t see any upsets. Maybe Michigan. If not this year and they keep their core together they will come close either next year or the following one.
ConnMotors- - -Michigan needs a talented big girl then they'll be really dangerous!

Funny how bball life works. Hannah Hidalgo and Olivia Miles both making the elite 8. Kara Lawson and Duke beating Flau'Jae after Flau'Jae kinda called her out after getting limited minutes during team USA.
And, the player that Flau'jae beat for a 3 pt score in December? The same one that faked her and score the winning basket Friday night. Karma is a funny thing sometimes.

I recall that Flau'Jae was national freshmen of the year. Did she follow that up with any significant All-American honors the past 3 seasons?

What is wrong with Notre Dame’s recruiting? Replace Hidalgo with a 2nd Team All ACC guard, they probably don’t even make the field. Can’t fathom how a program like ND ended up with this roster.

Holla from Sac-Town! Not a full house but very crowded and enough folks here to step in and help sign the national anthem when the Mic wasn't working.

Duke ahead at the half- they can give any team trouble, big & good defenders & diversified offense.

Today, we are all Spartacus, er... I mean we are all @triaddukefan
"We" does not include the crowd at the Golden 1. This feels like a home game for them, 400 miles away or not. But the Duke fans who traveled are pulling their weight, noise wise.

Edited to add: reffing is also starting to feel like a home game. A few questionable ones for UCLA and then a couple of non-calls on the other end.
