Did they actually provide an honest rationale for why Indianapolis? Its not a major city, yes it is in the middle of the country but is not an airline hub so flights might not be a cheap there as in other cities. Was there a lottery?

It doesn't need to be an airline hub because there won't be any fans. I would imagine that teams will quarantine until they lose and then go home.

Indianapolis is probably the biggest conference city in the country, it's set up perfectly for this sort of stuff.

I was at a convention for about 50K people a few years ago which used Lucas as one of our sites. Indianapolis worked out quite well.

Well I guess retirement has taken me out of the conference circuit - who knew. It wouldn't be my first choice for destination though

In addition to being home of the NCAA offices, the Final Four was already scheduled to play at Lucas Oil Stadium on April 3 and 5th.

"They" applies to a lot of groups. The state, the county, residents, businessowners, etc. The governor has given mixed messages through executive orders.

Regulations are handled by county with different levels of restrictions based on metrics. However, even in their most restrictive level (red) they have this guideline:

"Local officials may consider limiting hours for the operation of bars, nightclubs and restaurants."

Even with their most restrictive measures, clubs and bars are still open.

Sounds familiar as we have the same problems with messaging here in Florida.

Teams are going to have no margin of error this season. Realistically, teams will play 22-25 games, so a 15-7 record out of the P6 is going to be like a 4-5 seed. A single bad loss or cold stretch is going to be fatal because there just won't be enough games to make it up.
