The St. John’s style just does not play that well outside of the BE officiating. They had to rein in the contact so much because of how the game was called and it really limits how many easy looks they get on offense. Add in the absolutely awful shooting night and they’re just not as good as they seemed. Unfortunately this was all too predictable.

StJ not even losing this one because Arkansas played well, they just stunk. What an egg this one was. To not have your best player in during crunch time is wild.

There have been a few of these games over the last two years where the favorite lays a surprising egg, where they do a lot of the details right, but the ball just doesn't seem to go in the basket, and then there are a few weird defensive breakdowns. Hmm.

It feels like college sports is hanging by a thread.

Arkansas had players that could really defend Luis as they were his size and quickness, and then he also missed some open looks he usually makes and it snowballed.

Me thinking a non UConn or creighton big east team had a shot at a tournament run

They are who we knew they were a team built for a conference that allows physical play and doesn't call fouls. Unfortunately BE refs don't call tourney games foe BE team. Once they got into a game where they weren't free to just beat up the other team they were going to struggle

SJU-Arkansas two lousy shooting teams trying to out-lousy each other. And two slimeball coaches trying to out-slime each other.

In the end, SJU won that battle and lost the game.

Embarrassing performance for the BE.

Pitino should stop at Electric Blue on his way back from Providence and buy the team some sympathy lap dances.

This is really bad for the Big East. I don't know why people are celebrating this.
Because we hate St John’s more than we care to wave the banner of a league that doesn’t do anything to support us.

There are several posters on this board that would like to see the UConn athletic program burn to the ground if they could get a one post dig at another internet poster who they will never meet.

I'm not doing the research, but gonna guess that 28% shooting performance was the worst of any 1 seed in modern NCAA tourney history.

Just embarrassing for Pitino, for St John's and for the conference.

Remember the Pitino quote about waving past the Storrs campus on the way to Providence? Maybe on the way back to Queens they can study some past UConn games to learn how to win tournament games as a high seed.
They should go down I 95 and avoid Storrs. Give them credit, they won ONE NCAA tournament game against a 15 seed.
