NCAA Tournament Expanding to 76

The Venn Diagram between A) those who think the Big East is no longer a competitive league and B) those that think the MEAC 4th place team that happened to win its conference tournament can beat Duke, is a perfect circle.

Just four weeks ago Siena took Duke to the final 2 minutes.
You can add to this VCU beating North Carolina; High Point beating Wisconsin and Kentucky needing overtime to beat Santa Clara.

How is pointing out all the recent factual examples of you being incorrect trolling?

He has no argument so he pulls this crap. Waylon at his finest.

.-.
They lost.

How many snoozer games do we need to see from 4/13 down to get ONE close game, where the dog still loses.

It is truly silly to compare Siena to even an A 10 team.
You literally said, walk me through how a mid major "..STAYS ON THE COURT WITH..."

Sienna taking Duke - the top overall seed (and probably one of the top 5 NILs) - to the final two minutes is the very definition of "staying on the court with" a major conference team.

Quit moving the goalposts

Never argue with him on here. It's not worth it. He will keep fighting with you forever. I can direct you to the "shovel snow off your car" thread if you want to see what I mean.

Walk me through how a team with maybe a $500k budget, or less, stays on the court with a major conference team that has a $5 million budget. These games were mostly blowouts before the players were getting paid. Now they are just silly.

In addition to the games previously mentioned (Siena Duke, High Point Wisconsin, Santa Clara Kentucky, UMBC Virginia), just since 2023 we've had:

14 Oakland BEAT 3 Kenucky
13 Samford lose to 4 Kansas by 3 points
13 Furman BEAT 4 Virginia
15 Princeton BEAT 2 Arizona
16 FDU BEAT 1 Purdue
14 Kennesa State lose to 3 Xavier by 4 points
15 Robert Morris take 2 Alabama to the final 2 minutes

When I first starting posting on this board he endlessly accused me of being a troll who hates UConn just because I didn't think the Big East was good.

Do you then re-seed after the first 12 ? As it is, if you have 16 vs 16 they play the 1. But if you have 16 vs 12, now what ?
Maybe
Think about the planets that need to align for an NEC to beat a Top 2 seed.
Conferences like the NEC and MEAC are generally always represented by 16 seeds.

In the particular case of using 2026 teams, we're taking Summit, Horizon, CUSA and Ivy as 14 seeds taking on mediocre majors. Beating those teams is definitely doable.

I was just lamenting the fact that March Madness was missing the 15th, 16th and 17th place SEC teams. Now I will rest easy tonight.
As long as they get 100% of the entire awesome league then they are good…

3 upsets were in 2023, and Kentucky was in 2024. All were before the House settlement.

My position is players would rather play for money than no money. You are arguing the opposite. I don't try to argue against that level of stupid.

Not sure how I feel about this.

Mid and low major coaches do not even agree with you that there is a remotely level playing field. They are calling their own teams the minor leagues. Arguing that there is a realistic path for a low major to put together a roster that can beat a Top 12 team when all the advantages they used to have (continuity, older rosters) are gone, is simply ridiculous. A low major beating a Top 12 team is much more likely to be the result of point shaving than it is to be the result of playing better that day.

** actually known as a “Val Diagram”.

You literally refuse to acknowledge all of the examples of you being incorrect. I am not the stupid one Val

There is good amount of trolling going on. Some just like to be passive aggressive with their emojis instead of having conversations about basketball.

What's your point? The 12 play-in teams from majors will have little to no chance of beating 1, 2 or 3 seeds.

I don't know why you continue to completely ignore the point that we're talking about P5 underachievers in play-in games, not the top seeds. I'll remind you this thread is to discuss the expansion of the play-in field from 8 to 24 teams. Top seeds have zip to do with the topic.

There are very few low major over high major wins over teams not named Boston College during the regular season.

Another thread where he tomahawk dunks all over himself for multiple pages.

Since House, the gap between the mid majors and low majors is a chasm. The gap between the high majors and low majors is like a Grand Canyon on top of another Grand Canyon. The only place that assertion is remotely controversial is with you, @RashadRay11 @HooperScooper @Scoe who seem to think we are in an age of parity.

When the entire sports world agrees with me, maybe I am not the one dunking on himself.

Can you point to even one time I've ever said something like that?

I just like to make fun of you. It's my duty to the Boneyard.
