This is looking like the least exciting first round in NCAA history. This year actually feels like an argument for splitting off the P5, because it probably is.

That Aaron White kid is a really nice player for Iowa. Not much of an athlete but has one of the most complete games I've seen on offense, nice player to watch.

Are you kidding me? The first round had been amazing, tons of games coming down to the final possession.

Yesterday there were 5 1 point games. And two 3 seeds lost.

It's been an awesome first round.

not enough for my liking I wanted to see ND, UNC, Lville, WVU and NC State all go down.

Me too. But we don't get every upset we want every year. Usually, top seeds win. LSU choked.

The three ACC heavy-weights - UNC, Louisville, and Notre Dame - won by a combined eight points, and Virginia was pushed by Belmont. Meanwhile, Iowa State and Baylor went down as three seeds, Maryland squeaked by Valpo, and the Big East is undefeated.

Some close ones today, but it could be a total chalk day. Yesterday was wild.

Yesterday was wild? There are a total of 4 upsets so far in this NCAA tournament, and there are only 4 games remaining. Of the 4 upsets, 2 were P5/BE teams vs. non-P5 teams. Incidentally, there are only 4 games in this tournament involving a P5/BE team as the worse seed than a non-major, and 2 of those ended up as upsets, both with controversial calls in the last two minutes.

The lowest number of first round upsets in the tournament since it expanded to 64 is 3, in 2000.

It will be interesting to see how a highly seeded non-major like Gonzaga gets treated by officials in what looks like it may be a close game.

Your obsession with the P-5 and Big East is so over the top and old. #nelsonobsessedwithP5

It's not just about upsets - the games were more entertaining yesterday. Two 3 seeds got knocked out, there were a couple OT games, a horrid call at the end of the SMU game, and many of the games went down to the wire. Today's been pretty ho-hum.

I'd be pissed if I were unfortunate enough to be a Providence fan. 6 seed playing a road game in round 1.

I love when announcers get something in their head right after a play and you can tell they know but refuse to change their narrative. Case in point with Gottlieb and Dunn's flagrant, he is trying to say the Dayton player got to close and had his hands on Dunn and should have been play on. Replay shows the defender with no hands on him and Dunn swings arms over to try and get an advantage and he tags the kid with his elbow. Correct call.

I think this first round has shown how weak the bubble was. OSU and UCLA were the only bubble teams to win and UCLA was on a very questionable call.

the st johns game has a good pace and intensity to it

is uconn the only team that continually uses the mid range jumpshot?

Providence is looking a lot like Uconn so far. 7 points 12 minutes in.

Dayton doing it again, watched the game against NC State in 02 the other night and forgot that Sean Miller played for them.

Providence has the 6th tallest team in the NCAA and Dayton kicked off two key frontcourt players due to disciplinary reasons. The flyers are really small. Why they aren't getting better shots is perplexing.

This is your chance to do something Providence don't blow your opportunity for the 2nd year in a row.
