NCAA to run NIT-like tourney for women's hoops

So, how in the article did Seton Hall coach Tony Bozzella "But I'm not sure it is. With the WNIT and NCAA we had 132 teams, now we have 100." get to his number of 100 teams?

2022-2023: 68 in the NCAA Tournament and 64 in the independent WNIT = 132 total
2023-2024: 68 in the NCAA Tournament, 32 in the new Women's Basketball Invitation Tournament, and 48 in the independent WNIT = 148 total

Did Coach Tony or I attend the remedial math classes @ Seton Hall?

He may have anticipated that the NCAA efforts to monopolize postseason play will be successful and will drive the WNIT out of business.

I happen to find this perspective persuasive and I'm also very amused that this type of continued NCAA action avoids antitrust enforcement scrutiny.. Professional sports has successfully achieved rent seeking through aggressive lobbying. And make no mistake about it the NCAA is the vehicle for cartel for professional college sports. And much like OPEC we'ee seeing conflict within the cartel particularly between the powerful and the less powerful.... I'm thinking of the disintegration of the pac-12.

Seems like he was discounting the independent WNIT. 68 (NCAA) + 32 (WBIT) = 100 so I get the math. I'm just not sure that WCBB needs 3 post season tournaments...
