Why do I get the feeling that the NCAA would be happy if this could somehow
just go away?

If they ultimately drop a very big hammer on UNC I'll be very much surprised.

Took long enough. Wonder what excuse they'll come up with this time before administering a wicked slap on the wrist.

Rashad McCants failed 2 of 4 classes in his first semester as a freshman, including college algebra. The following semester -- which included most of the college basketball season -- he was enrolled in 4 African-American studies classes, received 4 A's and made UNC's Dean's list. McCants claims he didn't attend any of those classes and didn't write his papers. Good ol' Roy's Sergeant Schultz routine doesn't fly.

There are many parallels to an organization like the NCAA investigating an institution like UNC.

Here's one.

After what the NCAA did to uconn for stuff not even close to some of this complete grade and course scam I hope they shut their b ball program down for a few years to send a message to all! But it is UNC and the NCAA does not have the testicles to punish them that seriously.
