What a pathetic attempt to maintain the facade that big time college sports is somehow based on academics.
I'd be okay with, "in academic good standing" or "not on academic probation," but it's condescending and insulting to tell a kid - if you're averaging a B-, that's better than 30% of your freshman peers, it's good enough to earn course credit, and it's good enough to matriculate. Not good enough if you want to play somewhere else, however.

No they can't. If that was the case, Sid Wilson would have played this past year.
Turns out they have different rules for baseball, football, and basketball which is totally BS. I was trying to figure out why there was this whole process my boss just went through with his son. They should all be the same because it’s harder to transfer out of conference for soccer (not as many schools have D1 soccer) so it’s unfair. They also get far less money.
