You got the hoops #s right, but it's 2 men's soccer (1981 & 2000), and 4 women's field hockey for 21 total.

We also won the 1948 men's soccer title, but that was before it was a sanctioned NCAA sport. And since polo's not sanctioned, our championships there don't count, either.

But Syracuse has men's bball titles from decades earlier (and bestowed, not won, decades later) than our men's soccer title that they swear count. If theirs does in the hearts and minds of their fans, even if not not officially, so can ours!

We have 2 men's soccer titles. Plus the 1948 one that was awarded by poll I think. The 2 we won were in 1981 and 2000.

Polo is a club sport, so it doesn't count for NCAA tournament championships won by UConn. The 1948 men's soccer title was long before the NCAA started holding a tournament to determine a champion for men's soccer.

Huh? College students hurling is a sport?

Seriously. I had no idea either. I've projectile vomited clear across a room, but my control wasn't great. I know I had the raw talent and I'm sure with proper coaching I could've gotten even better and maybe earned a partial scholly.

I watched the national championship men's Lacrosse final today....as thrilling a match as I can recall in a while. Enough to have me interested in watching Lacrosse,

It ain't football...but it was fun to watch.

That was a great game.

I used to work with a guy who recently moved from Ireland. He is all about Hurling and Gaelic football. Plays in leagues for both at the Glastonbury Irish American Society that are pretty popular.

I've seen hurling yard signs around and wondered WTF was that. We do have a decent middle school/high school rugby league here in Eastern PA. My son played for a couple of years.

Seems to me it was strictly an amateur thing when I was in school. Took place mostly late Thursday night/early Friday morning.
