If you go to the NCAA web page http://www.ncaa.com/sports/basketball-men/d1 on the front page their are two North Carolina fluff pieces called, "Pillars of the program". Its odd that a organization who should be gearing up to severely penalizing that school would be promoting them right now. Sorry for the as I mentioned this in another thread but felt it warranted its own thread since it is ridiculous!

I think your premise is wrong. I would be highly surprised if UNC got anything but a minor penalty and a wrist slap even though they committed one of the most egregious examples of academic fraud in NCAA history. Going forward, I don't think the NCAA will impose harsh penalties on any P5 program, only on programs that are not part of the P5 like Weber St.

Tone deaf as an organization. Wasn't it just last year that Bilas pointed out you could go to the NCAA website and buy a Manziel jersey while they were investigating him for autograph sales.

Specifically that you could search "Manziel," and his jersey would come up, even though it doesn't use his name, and so he doesn't receive any money for it. The same was true for every other big-name player.
