NCAA considers changes to NIL and the portal.

Regular students have had NIL since social media became a thing. Theres a reason the NCAA had to back down on limits on transfers.
The “regular student” thing is really a false equivalency for so many reasons. I’m pretty sure you can limit the transfer portal availability dates, though. Nobody is stopping anybody from leaving the University of Southern North Dakota. He just can’t be awarded an athletic scholarship for that semester. He can be just like an ordinary student and write a check for tuition, room and board and pay for his own books. Just like an ordinary student.

"Ole Miss starting running back Quinshon Judkins will enter the transfer portal"

Even after winning the Peach Bowl and finishing 2nd behind Alabama these programs will lose their best players. It is going to be the same handful of schools every year. At this point, it really makes no difference which conference UConn ends up in.
