Without thinking too long:

There have been 32 NCAA WCBB champs. From how many states?

I've got 9.

After you had 10. :)

But the idea was to quickly pick a number, without trying to count the states.

TN 8-5
CT 8-0
CA 4-3
LA 2-4
TX 5-0
IN 2-3
VA 1-2
NC 1-2
MD 1-0
----------
KY 0-3, AL 0-3, GA 0-2
PA 0-1, OH 0-1, NJ 0-1, OK 0-1, MI 0-1
==========================
And for those of you familiar with Census Divisions ...
East So Central = 8-11
West So Central = 7-5
So Atlantic = 3-6
New England = 8-0 :)
Pacific = 4-3
East No Central = 2-5
Mid Atlantic = 0-2
West No Central = 0-0
Mountain = 0-0

Yes, I realized as soon as I typed 10 that I'd counted CA twice (USC and Stanford).

Some argue they should be separate states.

I think the part that wants to break off is a bit north of Stanford, but if after the next big quake they decide to make a three-way division, than it could have a central area with Stanford and the San Francisco portion, unless it's gone and the boats need to be tied up in Idaho.
