When 2024 title odds first opened earlier this year, UConn was the betting favorite at 12-1 coming off its run to the national title. And while no team has repeated since Florida won the Big Dance in 2006 and 2007, UConn certainly looks like it has the horses -- er, rather, the Huskies -- to go back-to-back. Dan Hurley is the top coach in a loaded Big East and he's armed with an ungodly amount of talent on his roster led by five-star freshman Stephon Castle, Rutgers transfer Cam Spencer and a returning bunch that includes Donovan Clingan and Tristen Newton.

My site has us tied for 4th favorite with Duke at 14-1. Naturally, I threw $140 at it. As if there was a number I wouldn't bet us at. I'm such a homer I'd take 3-1. I also took MQ at 25-1 and Creighton at 33-1. If we can't win it I want the BE to represent.

It would be nice to hit another bet on the Run It Back Tour. I had us 30-1 last year...had us 75-1 the Shabazz year. Unfortunately, I did not have betting access for the first 3 or I would have been able to blow much more money in my younger years.

Those consensus numbers are not totally accurate from my experience. I don't think you can get Marquette +4000 anywhere (closer to +2500). UConn is 16/18/20 on the places I've seen, so that's a good value number but not totally crazy.

Edit- Found that Caesar's apparently does have Marquette at +4000. Brb, downloading the app. I think they used all Caesar's figures, not a consensus like they said in the article..

As always the Big 10 is overrated and as always they will flame out when it counts. I am not a big Shaka fan but I would like Marquettes odds if I was a betting man. Of course betting on them means we won’t win it. Something not part of my thought process
