NCAA CG Viewership - Highest Since 2019

The TV #'s were great for the tournament but they're calculating the #'s differently now so it doesn't really mean anything. As far as the play outside of the UConn Duke game which was by far the game of the tournament and an all-timer there were only a couple other great games. Despite their record I'll forget about this Michigan team and their title will always have an asterisk in my mind just like their other title against Seton Hall. It isn't a memorable team and no way is it an all-time team.

It was on TBS. If it’s on CBS it’s 20+ million.

Yes. 1000xs Yes.
You said it better than I could. I was saying this very thing over and over again. However, if someone like Purdue (or us) had done what MU did this year we could call them an all time team for the very reason you mention

Vandy/Nebraska was a great game. With you that this UM team for whatever reason doesn’t really have memorable impact. Felt plastic. It makes a difference even if you have single year returners. I found Duke to have more character with 3 returners starting and the son of an alum.

UConn-Purdue, got 14.8 million I believe. That game would've gotten more on CBS. There are plenty of people without cable. My parents in laws don't have cable and I give them the username and password to sign into my XFinity account so they can watch the title game.

I know CBS has their syndication deal with the Turner family of channels, but they really should stick the Final Four games on CBS exclusively and find a way to make their syndication contract work. It would be almost as bad as sticking the Super Bowl on a channel only available on cable, Netflix, or Amazon Prime.

Shout out to the NCAA for making sure one of their most viewed championships in history was such an impeccable product! Kudos to them all around

CBS doesn't have a syndication deal, they share the rights with Turner. Each have their own separate deals with the NCAA. Turner pays 70% of the rights fees to the NCAA, and that's how they were able to get championship game in alternating years.

The current deal expires in 2032. Will be interesting to see how this plays out and the timing with all the Power conference TV deals being negotiated around the same time as well. Here's to hoping that basketball revenue grows significantly and the Big 12 is able to decouple basketball as a separate TV contract. The rest of the industry will follow the money. UConn. Profit. L, F, G.

Pretty amazing with a worse time slot we touched the so called real championship game in ratings on Saturday
Because in most eyes that was the title game - you are correct
