Two losses that are totally due to the Boatright situation. Absolutely no down low presence whatsover and its impossible to win no matter how good you are with two guys and only two who can score.

NCAA is squeezing the life out of this team.

I just wonder, and I am I not obsessing, but lets say that something came up with one of the Dookies during the season. How long do you think it would take the NCAA to sort it out?

The loss of Boatright is cascading down on a team that obviously isn't a great team. Boatright/Napier/Lamb was by far our best offensive line-up. Now Lamb and Napier HAVE to play 37-40 minutes a game, and their FG% are suffering for it. This combined with our front court doing jack squat has equaled two close losses.

Auburn declared Cam Newton ineligible and the NCAA cleared him by lunch the next day

It wasn't Boatright's absense in this game. There was absolutely no offense from our forecourt, and zero points from our bench.
Uconn was taken completely out of any of it's offensive sets. I doubt Boat would've made much difference had he played.
We desperately need to get the ball to our big guys in the right places. That, unfortunately, isn't happening.

Boatright is our sixth man.........

This board makes it seem like we lost Michael Freaking Jordan. We have more talent than Cincinnati and Tennessee without Boatright. It's just all excuses instead of realizing that plain and simple this team isn't that good right now.

So the team isn't that good, but we have more talent? How does that make any sense?

I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for the NCAA to make a ruling. It really sucks, but what can you do? Have to work with what you have, and other guys need to step up. Boatright or not, this team is going nowhere with Oriakhi and Drummond playing this way.

Non-athlete I'm guessing? You can have a ton of talent and not play well together...

If/when they get back Boat that will definitely help, but the team's problems right now go way beyond whether or not Boat is on the floor.

Stop using missing Boatright as an excuse for this loss. We lost games to a sucky Rutgers team when we had him and played badly in most games we won with him. This team makes one excuse after another for playing like crap and this includes JC.

You can't possibly be saying that the presence of Boatright wouldn't have made a difference in the last two games that they lost by three points or are you?

No, don't attempt to break down what happened. Just say we suck. Throw in an insult toward our HOF head coach too and call our players lazy for good measure.
I am saying I'm tired of the excuses, not saying Boatright wouldn't have helped the last two games just that this team has major issues beyond this. It's too simplistic to think Boatright is the answer when lack of inside scoring, zero offensive rotation, bad hands, turnovers etc are the real issues. As far as the so-called shot at JC, it was not a direct shot but just a complaint about him using not having Boatright as an excuse for the team's poor play like many players and posters here. I think everything I said was fair. Are you telling me you always agree with everything JC says and does because of all his accomplishments?

What kills me with this team is that it makes no adjustments on anything, from game to game. 3 pt defense, low post scoring, intensity, anything - you'd think AO and AD would come out with a vengeance after that pathetic performance against Cinci, yet they come out with another flat, discouraging performance. Insanity - continue with the same and expecting different results.

I especially love this comment given the fact in another thread you were calling on the coaching staff to press Tennessee which is something they clearly can not do with Boatright being out and making them shorthanded.

Having more talent doesn't necessarily make for a better team. TN played better and smarter yesterday, despite an overall talent deficit. Pretty simple to see that.

You nail it, m'man. Pussified thinking. Pathetic, victimized excuses. There's no leadership on this team. Unless something changes, we're looking at an early exit in March at best.

We need toughness from AO and AD. Napier and Boat have that when they are in there.

What about the 2006 team? Loads of talent but they lost to a less talented team in the elite 8. So by your logic, George Mason was better?

We are all frustrated with the teams current play. Given the talent level that supposedly exists, and the experience of this team, let's see what Feb. & March bring.
Lamb's play was encouraging yesterday. Nappier played very well too. But, our forecourt isn't getting themselves into the correct position to score. As a result the backcourt is forced to take too many desperation shots. It is amazing as to where AO goes. RS & DD, are MIA far to often. AD is MIA around 50% of the time.
If, and when JC can mold this team together, I do believe we'll have something. We do need a leader to emerge. I think our leader should be Bazz, but that doesn't seem to be working, at present. He is leading by example, however. Hopefully, this can rub off.
