In some theoretical world where UConn's ban got lifted, I wonder what this would mean for Oriakhi's eligibility.

I am well aware this isn't going to happen.

Great that means I only have to hold on to the unrealistic expectation that the NCAA will do the right thing for two more days. On the down side, I fully expect to be a pretty cynical poster over the weekend. I apologize for that in advance.

In the world view of the NCAA, being seen as holding a high profile program accountable trumps doing the right thing. As for the press, they just wanted a splashy headline.

Walt Harrison says "I do not expect us to make any changes retrospectively." To me this means that they may change the rule in the near future to use the more recent grades but that won't help Uconn this year. What a load of crap that is.

The damage has been done, IMO. The team has been substantially weakened, as has recruiting, but at least we'd have a chance to "shock the world".

Again, why hasn't UConn sued yet?
I think the carrot of a possible change was dangled before them. There is nothing stopping them now. Mininmally I think that UConn ought to go on a PR offensive on this issue. Playing nice got us nowhere.

Tell them I would like a ham on rye. Worthless, toothless poor excuses for a group of overseeing academic excellence. Emmert and the Hog Jowls.
