For those with Directv, you know what a big deal this is. Formerly it was found in the 600's. NBC Sports looks like it is trying to make all the right moves.

That is pretty big. That is 10 channel clicks away from the ESPN block, but only a couple away from the NFL channel. At least it is in that "sports window" now. Here's a question; does the positioning in a cable provider's "digit scale" require bidding from the station? Or is it just a decision that the cable provider makes on their own in order to deliver the best distribution of channels? If it is a "bidding" thing, it would make me feel a whole lot better about NBC's aggressive push into the sports programming...

Even with the Olympics wrapped up and the NHL season in jeopardy, there is a hint of optimism for NBCSN as the network has a puncher's chance at getting either the
Big East television rights or potentially the much sexier MLB television rights (maybe even both). Either would be a big development for NBCSN as they seek to close the canyon to ESPN ever so slightly.

Sounds like NBC is really starting to "get after it." That's good news. Let's hope good news turns into good money for the Big East...

They lost the MLB bidding.

if anyone watched the cowboys/falcons game last night in which the cowboys strolled through another game only to come up short in the closing seconds, there was some cross promotion for dan patrick and NBC Sports Network.
As the network comes up with more programming, I assume this is a given.
