NBA Slam Dunk Contest

Am I the only one who thinks Mac's dunks were kinda wack? A lot of pomp and circumstance but... dunking a ball that's hovering over the rim while dunking another one from another guy spinning on a hoverboard?
His first two dunks were sick. Castle's final round dunks were more impressive.

McClung is right there with Jordan, Vince, Nique, Aaron Gordon and LaVine.

When you realize he's 6'1.25 barefoot he's even more freakish.

I really wish the NBA would give him a real chance as a player, dude can play.
His in game dunks in high school were incredible, and there are scores of them. He has ups for days. The kid can shoot and pass too.

Props, reputation, and being a 5’8 guy helps, and credit to him. I don’t think the Spurs would’ve been thrilled with Castle using props.

Macs last dunk was dumb. Can't believe it got all 50s
Why? He jumped over the guy and then while still going up tapped the rim and then dunked it. That was nasty. Maybe if Steph had mad his first dunk on the first try they would of had a dunk off. Both were impressive and it was a good dunk contest thanks to those 2 guys. Andre and Bull sucked.

It's possible his knee injury sapped the very top end of his athleticism for a lot of his time here.
True but I watched him a lot in high school/AAU and never saw it. I think Jackson's knee injuries sapped some of his ups. I think he was an even crazier athlete when he first got to UConn.

jackson a massive dissapointment there…

he seemed completely panicked. how many different dunks did he try in the first two rounds lol. pick something and stick to it.

sorry I’m just salty that I blew $100 betting on that performance
When have you seen Andre do anything but power dunks and dunks off rebounds? He should had someone shoot and missed it for a tremendous dunk. He has no creativity from what I have seen.

Nah I think its cool. Bring the best guys in. Andre and Matas were trash, so the better guys the better overall.
The problem is if they expand it to non players some of those pro dunkers would win all the contests. I got no problem with McClung being in it because he's a legit player who should get a legit NBA shot.

Also notice Mcclung got a running start from half court facing the basket when everyone else started at the baseline, was that by choice for each dunker.

The 2 ball dunk seems pretty easy to me. Mac last dunk front rim tap doesn't seem hard but he had massive air. His first 2 dunks were ridiculous.

If that’s the case just do the best dunkers in the world and do away with NBA guys altogether.

Super weird that Mac McClung who I’m not sure if he ever played an NBA minute will be put in conversations with a HOF like Vince Carter.

Just waters it down.

Put $20 on Castle and $25 on Andre… so I’m hating on Mac real hard right now lol

And Castle would’ve ran away with it if it wasn’t for that meddling kid!

On April 9, 2023, in Philadelphia's last game of the regular season, McClung recorded a near-triple-double with 20 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists to help the 76ers defeat the Brooklyn Nets, 134–105. For some reason he isn't given a chance probably due to his height and he isn't a great shooter like Trae Young. He has actually played 4 games for 3 clubs.

Quiet Storm is a good nickname for Steph. Dude has more poster dunks than anyone this season and those contest dunks were ridiculous. He does it all easily and quietly. He's going to be a really big deal in the NBA.
