Before the DH, games averaged under 2.5 hours. And they were still under 3 hrs in 1999. Now they're around 3.25 hours for 9 innings.Right. You let us know when the last time MLB had games that came close to averaging 2 hrs. Is there a media narrative you won't buy hook, line, and sinker ?
Before the DH, teams used an average of 2.4 pitchers per game. In 1999 that was 3.5, last year it was 4.7.
As to your point about "buying a media narrative", that's not necessary. Just ask anyone who's been in favor of the universal DH and 9 out of 10 or more will tell you they do not like pitchers duels. "Too boring". You can just go through threads here on the BY to confirm that, no media necessary.
