NBA Preseason 2025

p

Firstly, he won’t ever be Shai.

Secondly, there is A LOT of in between there.
He’s bigger, stronger, and more athletic.

Not sure why you would say that so definitively. He’s already ahead of where Shai was timeline wise.

Only reason he won’t be is if your idea of what’s best for him happens and he spends most of his career being Fox’s sidekick.

Yep, just a different type of player. I’m high as heck of Steph but any realistic fan knows in the back of their mind his peak isn’t a top-3 player, MVP in the league.

I know you’re gonna disagree, so let’s just save the rest of the board and move on from this.

Yes. It’s super unrealistic to think the ROY who averaged 15 a game can develop into a top 3 player.

It’s not like the current guy was 6th in ROY voting averaging 10 a game. Impossible for our guy though.

I’d love to be wrong, don’t think I will be though. Agree to disagree!

Tyrese scored all 11 of his points in about the last 5 minutes of the game, including the game winning FTs to cap a double digit 4Q comeback. 8 minutes, 11 points, 3-3 shooting (2-2 from three)

7 bench minutes for Andre. 7 points and 3 rebounds, 1-2 shooting and 3-4 FTs

Non UConn: Olivier Sarr with a nasty game winner. Kel’El Ware continues to light it up, 24/10 in 24 minutes.

I assume San Antonio verbal agreed to give Fox a max extension before they knew they would get the number 2 pick in the draft...but I really think it was a mistake. Castle and Harper are going to need to play and grow together as much as possible.

He’s a great trade piece for #4

Castle is back. 14 points, 4 assists, 3 reboubds, steals on 5-12 and 2-4 from three. He was a starter and Harper came off the bench

That one handed skip pass is not an easy play to see or make. But he made it look easy.

Hope Fox takes as long as he needs to to recover from his hammy to see how Castle runs this offense next to Wemby. I’m ready to bet on his assist line lol

His three point shot looked much better. He needs to improve his FT percentage though, he's going to live at the line. Also, I swore he had 4 rebounds, but they must have given one to a teammate.

Harper played very well, he's much more of a traditional PG. Castle can play the point and is a great ball mover but he makes the simple play (or at least makes the hard plays look simple. Harper is much flashier, and very much ball dominate (or wants to be).

Clingan played 19 minutes as a starter. 15 points, 11 rebounds (7 offensive), 2 steals. Was only 2-6 on FT, but did make a three!

Hawkins got 18 minutes off the bench. 13 points on 3-7 (1-4 from three). Don’t know exactly how this works, but he was a +19 in 18 minutes in a 2 point loss (???)

Rough night for AJax. Only 10 minutes and was 0-4

Non UConn: Jared Butler (old Baylor guy) scored 35 points in 33 minutes on 14-25 FG and 5-9 3P, wow. Best shooter in college Koby Brea was 2-12 and 0-6 on threes, not so wow. Jeremiah Fears had a great game, looks like the Pelicans’ non-Dejounte lineup is Poole/Murphy/Herb/Zion/Missi so Fears came off the bench for 20 points in 22 minutes. Daniss Jenkins got the start for Detroit, had 19 points and 6 assists (but 5 turnovers)

Ajax better hope they find a place for him or he can start to pack his bags - I think he would be a great Globetrotter or Euro play perhaps. Never thought he was NBA caliber player solely due to his lack of having an offensive game. A true blue Husky for sure.

Clingan looks to be in great shape. Lots of talk from the team and from him about how much better shape he's in and how they're expecting big things. Clingan says he's dropped down to 280 lbs, I wonder if he was playing some of last season at 300 lbs.

Love to see it. That’s most of the battle for him. He’s going to put up big numbers just by being able to be on the floor for long periods.

Cleveland is a perfect fit for him if he can stay healthy, still miraculous he can be this effective after a knee cartilage transplant

nitpicking but this is where I need to see DC be aggressive, it's Steph Curry making a business decision in front of you at the rim, he needs to go in and dunk this just like he did vs Quentin Post in the first half. the same aggressiveness on the boards and challenging shots needs to be channeled in his offensive game

As a backup this is great. Especially considering the health issues if he can’t play big minutes.

If he’s able to play big minutes as a starter again I’d love for him to go to a team in need of a true PG and D player. Mavs could’ve really used him.

yea starter minutes is out of the question at this point, with Mitchell & Garland he can play sub 25 minutes and load manage games to maximize his effectiveness

Cam got only eleven minutes in a game against the Hornets (where the Grizzlies got curb stomped) and was one of two players with a plus boxscore, was 3-5, 3-4 for 11points and 6 assists. (Messed that up, I kind of turned the game off early and didn't check final stats for Cam).

Liam was 3-8, 0-3, 1-1 in 21 minutes, for 7, 5, 1 and a steal. Not great but not horrible and his shot is one of the things I wouldn't worry a ton about.

Non-UConn: Dallas' current starting lineup is kind of odd to watch. They go Flagg, Klay, PJ Washington, Davis and Lively. Super long and athletic but (Klay aside) shooting is going to be an issue.

Some teams are going super tall.

Rockets rolled out a starting lineup of Amen, KD, Jabari Smith, Sengun, and Steven Adams recently.

Missed that, makes sense for both teams with their starting PGs being out with injury and their backup PGs being mediocre.

IMO the Spurs plan to keep Fox until Steph gets his extension in 2028 or whatever it is. Castle, Wemby, Harper are a championship core in 5 years.
