Wemby is arriving at the most "must see" thing in sports since Tiger exploded on the scene. Been watching basketball for 35 years and I have no idea what the hell I just watched tonight.
Wemby 40!I can't imagine another duo in the NBA impacting both sides of the ball like Wemby and Castle.
Learning curve for Coop against NBA defense. Steph is strong and too quick for him, but Coop hit some nice shots later.
Wemby is insane. I and others have been calling for him to touch the paint more on offense and apparently he has learned. He is unstoppable once he gets there with his length, and gaining the strength he did in the offseason unlocks all facets of his game.
I said it with some friends watching earlier, he is a top 3 (maybe top 1) talent we have seen. He has no flaws and is the best defender in the league on top of it. Health is the only thing that can stop him from becoming a top-5 player of all time.
I can make another post about Steph. But the kid is wise beyond his years. Insane athleticism to go with incredible pace and beyod-his-years intuition. Surrounding him with shooters can lead to a 7-10 assists-per-game average consistently. His skip passes are unreal and his patience is mesmerizing. If he can become an ~35% shooter his ceiling is insanely high.
All in all, the Spurs might be the most fun team to watch this year, so many weapons, speed and displays of athleticism.

Thing I love is that Castle has so much room for growth. His FT shooting needs to get to 75-80%. That would have put him at 24-25 points this game. His 3PT shot looks better, but is still inconsistent. And oddly he fumbled the ball dribbling a bit in the second half for two(?) TOs I think. Two of those things are pretty fixable.
His passing is much better, he is also getting calls.
That's the thing. They may both end up as all nba defenders for the next decade.I can't imagine another duo in the NBA impacting both sides of the ball like Wemby and Castle.
From an AI Search I found this:He shot 72% from the line last year. Seems like getting to 75% would be a pretty modest improvement--almost expected. 80% is going to be a tall task for anyone in one off-season.
From an AI Search I found this:
"Stephon Castle had a free throw percentage of 75.5% during his time at UConn."
It was the easy way out...Why do you need AI to look that up?
Steph hasn’t been good tonight. Can’t be good always but sloppy with the ball and not shooting great. Some big TOs down the stretch
