Not necessarily, hopefully the Bulls sign him to an NBA contract but they can rescind the qualifying offer at any point if they don't agree to a new contract. So there's still a chance they just want him back on a new 2 way contractI think this means he is guaranteed an NBA deal next year? That's awesome.
The qualifying offer is binding as a one-year contract. If the player signs it, he’s under contract for next season. He could also sign an offer sheet from another team (which his team would have the ability to match), and he and his team could agree on a new, multi-year contract. The team also has the ability to rescind the qualifying offer going forward (the list below is as of June 29.)

How is the offer binding yet the team still has the ability to rescind the offer? Doesn't seem fair to the player. Other teams might be interested in signing him but know the Bulls can match so they don't offer or don't want to beat the Bulls offer. And then later this summer the Bulls just pull the offer and leave the player high and dry even though he could have had other offers earlier? Doesn't make sense.
It affects the cap situation. The money on the qualifying offer is held against the cap even if it hasn't been signed. So a team can rescind it to free up cap space so that they can sign another player? I doubt Sanogo is negotiating with anyone else so he should sign the QO asapThe qualifying offer is binding as a one-year contract. If the player signs it, he’s under contract for next season. It's no different than any other contract, any time you sign a contract it's binding. You can't sign a contract and then just back out a few months later if a different team comes along you'd rather play forThe qualifying offer is binding as a one-year contract. I get that part of it. But what's the point of the qualifying offer? Seems very team friendly if they can rescind the offer. There must be an outside date when the team has to rescind the offer by or else it's binding. Rescinding it allows the player to be an unrestricted free agent instead of a restricted one, so in most scenarios it's generally better for the player to have it rescinded. The qualifying offer is binding as a one-year contract. O.K. that makes sense. From what I can tell, qualifying offers for two way players are still a two way contract, but there's optimism Sanogo can negotiate a real contract to be the Bulls backup C.
It is team friendly, that's the point of the qualifying offer. Gives the team control over the player in the early years of their career. Yes, VERY team friendly. Having it able to be rescinded until October 1 stinks for the player. It is team friendly, that's the point of the qualifying offer. I mean, not really. They can take that option away at any point by signing the qualifying offer. The reality is for the guys in this situation is all of their options are non guaranteed deals and they'll always be a part of salary cap maneuvering gamesYes, VERY team friendly. Was hoping he'd come to the Knicks, but this is a decent spot

He was the backup to Embiid for half of 2021-22 so guessing it'll be fine if both sides decided to go down that path again.I wonder what the dynamic is between AD and Embiid...they where pretty chippy earlier in their careers playing against each other
Murray to NO also not great news for our guy Hawkins...buries him even farther (further?) on the bench
Castle wants to be a primary PG, and now he gets to learn from of one of the best PGs to ever play (3rd in assists all time).
NO needs a big BAD. Gotta think they’re targeting one in any Ingram tradeHe was the backup to Embiid for half of 2021-22 so guessing it'll be fine if both sides decided to go down that path again.
Should still be minutes available for Hawkins since Dyson Daniels was sent out in the Murray trade and Ingram will be gone in the next few days. Hopefully it's not a guard coming back in that deal
