My opinion of him as a coach hasn't really changed, but there's no chance he's being fired now that this series has been competitive. And my opinion on him is probably wrong if he's keeping them competitive against the Celtics
I'm not entirely sure you can credit Thibs for making the Celtics shoot 25% from three.

Tatum is shooting 29% fg's and 25% from three with 6 total points in the fourth quarter in the two home losses. Some of that is defense but a lot of it is Tatum shrinking from the moment. I'm sure he'll break out eventually but it's been a pattern of him shrinking when the lights are the brightest for many years now. A lot of dreadful games and dreadful 4th quarter performances. Since 2019-

36% field goals in their series loss to Milwaukee in 2019

41% field goals in their series loss to Miami in 2020

42% field goals in their series loss to Brooklyn in 2021

37% field goals in their finals series loss to Golden State in 2022. Tatum averaged 3 points, 1 assist, 1 rebound in the 4th quarter for the series on 25% field goals with a bunch of turnovers.

47% in their series loss to Miami in 2023

2024 they finally won the championship over the Mavericks but Tatum shot just 39% fg's and Brown won finals MVP

This Celtics team is exceptionally talented and pretty deep, but they are lackng something and that rears its ugly head every time their opponent pushes back in a big spot.

Where did Tatum learn to choke….oh that’s right in college…at the choke capital Dook…

It is kind of true analytics are ruining sports look at the Yankees with Aaron Boone.

Felger went on a rant today about how he wants the Celtics to lose because he wants the nerds to lose. Saying the sport is becoming too dorky and being overtaken by dorky white guys lol.

Ric Bucher says the Celtics losing would ultimately be good for the future of the sport.

Well Dorky analytics or not Knicks need to step up at home.

I want the Knicks to close this out so badly because I love the Knicks and I can't stand the way the Celtics play.

I was never a Celtics hater as a Knicks fan, I knew our place and I rooted for the Celtics as a little kid when they had Bird, I rooted for Reggie Lewis, I rooted for the Ray Allen Celtics teams. I despise this Celtics team because of the way they play.

OKC has Jokic as rattled and discombobulated as I've ever seen him. That's 18 turnovers in ten quarters for a guy who's about as surehanded as anyone who's played the game.

It's not my first time watching the Thunder, but I have to admit, I did not know they were this fun to watch. They defend like a pack of wolves and actually play inside out to an extent instead of just chucking threes.

Jokic and SGA have both sucked. If this was your first time watching them it'd be hard to believe they're going to finish 1-2 in MVP voting.

SGA just about as equally as bad as Jokic, he looks terrified of the moment

Man, Gordon and Murray saved Jokic's butt tonight MPJ did too.

That feels like a game OKC had to win with Jokic having his worst game ever. Their youth showed from the head coach on down through all the players other than Jalen Williams and Caruso.

That was a really weird game across the board. I can forgive an off shooting night from even the best players, but what I cannot understand is the complete lack of composure and horrible judgement SGA & Jokic showed throughout the night and especially in crunch-time. Horrible shot after horrible shot with seemingly no understanding of what makes them tough to guard.

Jokic had probably the worst statistical game of his playoff career (8-25 with 8 turnovers), but at least he eventually got going in OT. SGA is in his 7th season now. He averaged 33 freaking points per game this year yet was shut out (0-5) from the 7:33 mark in the fourth quarter on. If he were a bigger star in a bigger market, he'd be getting absolutely devoured by national media right now. I haven't seen that big a no show from a star player on that stage in a long time - especially a guard.

OKC collectively probably just isn't ready yet, but for the sake of SGA's brand and status in the league as an MVP type player, he really needs to bounce back after that one. That was rough.

Just one comment Thibs the goat from “Hard Hittin New Britain” . He was a few years ahead of me but I still got on the court with him a few times in pick up games. He is/was totally different in person than the guy who scowls on the sidelines. He also always encouraged some of the lesser players and was an all around decent guy.

I still do think he has his limitations as a coach but I know although he does not look it he is a people person one on one. All the rest of the stuff with media is probably due to the fact that he finds it so meaningless.

I know they're not the smartest people in basketball, but Shaq and Barkley both said this game is a must-win for the Knicks and you can see why. All the momentum, home court advantage the rest of the series, and the Knicks are down 16 at the end of the first quarter. Barkley was in this position twice in his career and choked away both series.

Being competitive against the Celtics is no longer good enough if Knicks don't win this series Thibs should be fired.

Boston is up 71-46. If both teams had shot 33% from three that half, it'd likely be a one possession game.

The three point line is the best and worst thing about this sport right now.

Oh my God! Cs up 28 with 15 minutes to go. I'm not confident.
