Charlotte doesn't go guard with their 1st pick, which is good. Duren. Good value at 13. 5 years ago he'd be top 3.

He's going to either the Knicks or Pistons depending on who you trust (Woj/Shams)

I don't understand why Charlotte didn't keep Duren, unless they're using him to trade Hayward.

So Hornets sending Duren pick to Pistons, but Knicks attaching Kemba in salary dump somehow.

Warriors are gonna put Baldwin in the development pot and they will probably have another steal in 2-3 years. Staying home and playing for pops really tanked his brand.

Baldwin had about as rough a year as anyone in basketball- he was injured and trying to play through it, his father was in the process of losing his job and he wasn’t helping him keep it, and his mother was diagnosed with breast cancer.

Tons of summer league deals leaking out so hopefully will see some news about RJ and Isaiah soon

Why are the Knicks dumping a $9.2 million salary? They certainly shouldn't be paying a team to take a modest salary like that with anything more than a very late first round or second round pick.

Not an awesome night for OTE last night. No one drafted with two projected to be drafted (including a projected first round pick in Montero). They’ll definitely have picks next year but with NIL, that model looks worse and worse. They need to consistently get players drafted or OTE is going to flame out.

The NBA draft has completely changed in the last 5 years. With players coming out so young, it is really hard to predict who is going to be good and who will suck. The 2019 draft is a great example. That is a very good, deep draft. Jordan Poole (#29) is one of the two most productive players out of that draft three years in. On the other hand, Zion Williamson (#1) could cripple the Penguins for the next 4 years if they sign him to a max contract based on the 50 or 60 games he has played so far.

You can go back 10 years and find that at least one of the top 5 players of every draft will have been picked after #25:

2013: Rudy Gobert
2014: Jokic, Jerami Grant
2015: Montrezl Harrell (this draft was terrible)
2016: Siakam, Dejuante Murray (plus Brogdan who while not Top 5 for the class, was Rookie of the Year)
2017: Kuzma, Dillon Brooks, Josh Hart and Derrick White are probably not Top 5 from this class, but all 4 are Top 10.
2018: Hard to tell who is top 5, but Brunson, Devonte Graham, Trent Jr., Robinson represents just a sick haul after 25.
2019: Poole, Porter

Here’s how things in the Big East have played out so far:

it's crazy to me that aminu mohammed left college after one year and ended up with the same contract that isaiah whaley signed. figured he would at least be a 2-way guy somewhere.

There is so much good talent out there that a borderline prospect like this not getting picked will never surprise me. I do expect NIL to keep kids in college longer, which will be good for college basketball and good for the kids.
